So we had the best squad and should have won trophies in 2015/16/17 .... you honestly believe that even for one second? much as I love Spurs even I'm not that delusional ....
Agreed - when Poch said we need to be brave Levy put his phone on Silent
When Klopp said they need to be brave - Board wrote him a blank cheque to sign the best CB and Keeper available
You can't polish a turd although sure as hell Poch tried his best at times - i.e. Trippier
I said we had a better squad than some of the teams who won trophies during that same time - like Arsneal and Utd. How are you even arguing otherwise? We finished 2nd that season and smashed everyone to bits bar Chavs. So we had the best squad and should have won trophies in 2015/16/17 .... you honestly believe that even for one second? much as I love Spurs even I'm not that delusional ....
Good list - and most of these had to do with wages reallyOff the top of my head these are transfer sagas we went in for and ultimately missed and ended up with Ryan Nelson and saha.
Luis Fabinho
Moutino
Hazard
Damiao
Willian
Aguero
Berahino
Grealish
Mane
Prime llorente
Pjanic
Forlan
Berardi
Dybala
Fernandes
Higuian (allegedly when he left Madrid then again before Chelsea)
Giuseppe rossi
Loic remy
Wigjnaldum
Suarez
There's probably hundreds more we had the chance to sign but ultimately failed. Many over pennies. It even nearly gave levy a heart attack buying Scott Parker. There were times when spurs looked like title winners over the years but lacked that final push, and instead of bringing in great talent, opted for Ryan Nelson. Harry redknapp and pochettino both worked miracles with fuck all investment. We continue to be a money making scheme, whether it be transfer sales and net profits, high ticket sales, bollocks nfl deals, or champions league TV money. But our owners will never push the boat out. You'd think you'd realise that after 2 decades. No matter who is the "head coach" you need to buy strategically at the right times. So many missed oppurtunies. That's why our club has collapsed. The Poch players had never left to give. How many years has it been now that we've gone without a proper striker to compliment Kane?? It's a joke. And you all blame the managers for the wrong tacticsheard it all with redknapp. Single handedly took us to the next level but peaked when no new signings were made to take us to that pinnacle, and was deemed inferior and tactically inept, didn't rotate enough. Same bollocks with Poch even though he performed magic with our squads over the years.
Our owners have plenty of money. They arent in this business to win trophies. It's as simple as that. They are investors looking to make money off of tv deals, revenue, CL money, facility renovations, transfer sales using the cheapest methods in doing so. There's a reason we only buy using money from sold players. Nothing comes out of their pocket. Then they hoard the CL money and TV revenue putting together squads from mid table foreign leagues in the 20m range depending on transfers sold.
Because it's just your idiotic opinion ... by any measurement it's simply not true ... our squad cost less money, we paid less in wages, we had a lower tier manager and bottom line we won nothing ... what evidence do you have that supports your opinion we were better? it's certainly none of the facts ...I said we had a better squad than some of the teams who won trophies during that same time - like Arsneal and Utd. How are you even arguing otherwise? We finished 2nd that season and smashed everyone to bits bar Chavs.
It is not an idiotic opinion - look at the table and the results from that season. Long post but just answer this question ....Off the top of my head these are transfer sagas we went in for and ultimately missed and ended up with Ryan Nelson and saha.

I said better than Utd and Woolwich - factThe clue is in your answer ... the best team wins the league ... the best stats win feck all ....
Resorting to childish insults - that's your argument done. Look at the table - come back when you're readyYou're an idiot, FACT ... does sticking FACT on the end now make things true? hmmmmm
Long post but just answer this question ....
What makes a team the most valuable?
Here are the seven most valuable teams in football
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man Utd, Bayern Munich, Man City, PSG, Liverpool
Here are the currently the seven most successful trophy winning teams in football
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man Utd, Bayern Munich, Man City, PSG, Liverpool
Your whole diatribe argues that Levy and ENIC don't want to win trophies because winning trophies makes you no money ... might I suggest you look at those two lists again and maybe rethink that preconception ... winning trophies makes you more money than anything else you can do. It is off course the goal of every owner either as a fan, or simply commercially to argue that it isn't? why even try?
The table where we finished second ... so not the best squad at least we finally agree on something .... enough of this your 'opinion' that we had the best squad in 15/16/17 is up to you ... I just don't agreeResorting to childish insults - that's your argument done. Look at the table - come back when you're ready
Above Utd and Woolwich - fact -therefore better than those 2 who won trophiesThe table where we finished second ... so not the best squad at least we finally agree on something .... enough of this your 'opinion' that we had the best squad in 15/16/17 is up to you ... I just don't agree

Ooooo kill 'emThey didn't write a blank cheque, they sold Coutinho for £120m to pay for those two signings.
All the owners of these clubs use their own funds from their own various companies and back pockets to fund transfers. Even if it means losing profits. They know that spending money can be a good thing and making the right investments win trophies long term even if it means profits are down.
Levy and Joe literally use player sales to buy players. Its all in house. Gross spend means fuck all. There's no improvement when you lose your best players or do not improve on the squad you have when you are peaking. Its a rinse and repeat job. We buy a set of players. Young and with resale value. We do not make adjustments when there's a need to push on. We ultimately fizzle out and have to rebuild. It's the spurs life cycle. Difference between Liverpool and spurs. They saw the problem and spent heavily to push them To the next level. We would literally be in their shoes right now had we made the right calls at the right time and had ownership that saw the value of buying heavy to get the right player even if it sometimes meant a negative net spend.
