Probably bought to raise our profile in America. I suspect we've recouped a lot of his transfer fee in loan fees and will sell and make a profit.
If he never really plays for the club, does the signing make a difference in the club's profile?

It probably did initially and it was probably a punt that he made our first team. Either way, he's an international and being with a Prem club means we should make a profit from him.If he never really plays for the club, does the signing make a difference in the club's profile?
See ya!
Neigh, it's Newcastle.Bet ya it's a reet old ego boost for a young American player to come over here.
He's no Landon Donovan, but must feel like a rock star on our little isles, getting papped at the airport.
I'm not a UK Airport buff, but is it not possible that he's off to Sunderland? (do they share an airport?) Not sure whether the bald bloke is supposed to be in a Horse Puncher tie or not.
Monopoly money is worth more than the American Dollar nowadays :chadliblow:I still hope this is a loan.
The last time we sent an otherwise shit full back to the North East it didn't go too badly.
Also, think of those sweet sweet American dollars we'll miss out on if we sell him.
Obviously he meant double our investment. That's actually a horrible scenario. Doubling our profit means that we sell him to Newcastle, buy him back and then sell him BACK to Newcastle and therefore double our profit off of him. You can't double profit on one player.
But I do know what you meant and I agree with you.
Don't know why you apologized to the Americans on here. If he's not Spurs he's not Spurs, there is no American on here that is bummed because he's American and didn't make it. I would assume we and many others on here are bummed that he's a right back that didn't make it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Honestly, I'm pretty bummed that he didn't make it. We all knew going in that Spurs were taking a punt and he probably wouldn't ever reach the required level, but seeing your countryman succeed at the club that you love is special (at least when your country doesn't put many players into top flights around the world).
Even though guys like Keller, Dempsey, and Friedel were never my favorite players in a Spurs shirt there was still some special feeling whenever they stepped up and produced for the team.
Carter vickers is really English though, I would be disappointed if he chose the USAI haven't hid my dislike of American footballers (outfield) as I've never seen a good one, until now. Trust me on this, Carter-Vickers will be America's greatest ever footballer of all time. There I said it. Been watching him for years, he has had the talent for years, the only remaining question mark would be his temperament, but seeing as he is in Poch's confidence I am assuming that his temperament is just fine and will only get better. The whole of America will know his name, fabulous footballer.
With 29 apperances for US already under his belt it would be odd to play for England now. I've no idea what he personally wants if given a choice, but don't believe England are interested.Carter vickers is really English though, I would be disappointed if he chose the USA
He was never really at Spurs.
