Dele has always been a good player. He will be back and out in full force soon.
Meh, he's still getting back to peak fitness and we're in a dense fixture schedule. He and Bale getting subbed make perfect sense in that context, regardless of how either formed yesterday.

The refereeing in this league has got to be one of the worst. The inconsistencies are all there for all to see. That was a clear penalty by how many such penalties have been given. Harry’s foot was kicked. It didn’t matter how hard or soft, that was a penalty.
It boggles my mind to think that this league and its clubs continue to let these jokers risk the millions upon millions of pounds of potential revenue loss with these incompetent decisions made week in week out.
If Dele had been playing like he has been doing of recent, I doubt he would have been dropped in the first place.
He is now playing much deeper as opposed to the trequartista role he is more confortable in. It would do his career a lot of good if he continues to diversify his skill set, make it easier for him to fit in different schemes under different managers.

I was rather dissapointed in Dele to be honest.
I am not saying that he was awful. But I felt that Lamela impacted the game much more and offered more to the team, despite the fact that Dele is more talented of the two.
He had sparks (like this really quick pass to Son behind the lines in 2nd half which almost made it), but most of the game was invisible.
I was kind of hoping that he would be one of the stars of the show yesterday.
But of course happy he got more playing time. Fully expexting him starting in 2nd leg (and hopefully completing full 90 minutes there).

Dele was solid tonight.
He was poor
He doesn’t really fit well with lamela. He’s good at finding pockets and lamela clogs the middle and holds onto the ball too long.
