Yes and I watched him at Forest, also at Leeds where he started fair got a knee injury and squeezed out. If he was half the player, he'd still have been twice as effective as an injured an exhausted Destiny Udogie and exhausted Pedro Porro, it's inexcusable and along with the cluster fu*k of the goalkeepers squad placements it makes me highly dubious about the intelligence of our coaches. I saw Spence live in the San Siro he looked the part in a Genoa side playing a much more tactical game than he was used to. Frankly he looked what he has become a very good prospect.

Genoa could have had him for 8 million.

He's now twice the player he was while there.

Ah, I unfortunately never saw him at Forest, just the highlights from the Chelsea game where he looked very good. So I can only judge what I saw from him in Serie A. Thanks for the insight. Serie A probably a good place to improve tactically.

No I think my point was that when he was at Genoa, Spence was a talented kid who was still on a journey to take the next required step. Genoa had the opportunity to help him take that step for 8 million. They choose not to.

Spence stayed at Spurs, took that next step (with the help of the coaching staff) and has now blossomed into one of England's best performing fullbacks. He'd be worth a minimum 40 million now.

It's a massive credit to him as a person. Great story.

It’s fucking incredible how determined some people are to hijack Spence’s success story and make it a negative.
 
Once again Richard Arlison and Phomesy step in a do whatever they possibly can to shield Ange from any legitimate criticism.

People following the actual story in real time know Djed was marooned by Ange as a last choice afterthought. It's weird how desperate these two folks are to defend and rehabilitate Ange at every turn- almost as if there is no legitimate criticism possible of Ange!

Yet they disappear for a couple of days after a terrible defeat and come back with a new angle defending ange on every thread
