I’m really hoping for the best. The progression of our record signings since the summer of 2013 and the spending of the Gareth Bale money has me fearing the worst but I’m fighting my inner Tottenham pessimism here and am going to declare that Solanke will be a roaring success.

Paulinho
Roberto Soldado
Erik Lamela
Davinson Sanchez
Tanguy Ndombele

Was Richarlison a record signing as well, or did he come in at slightly less than Ndombele?

Woolwich Chelsea and Man City all got double figures in penalties last season making up the top three....

We got 2...... Only Forest got less than us with one......

True but we lack the intricate play in the box that draws fouls. We definitely should have had a few more than we got but our lack of guile means defenders don’t have to lunge at players like they do with City and Woolwich. We don’t make teams defend desperately.

Also if you see the heat map from the 442 video, Sonny was hardly ever in the box. Solanke spends loads of time there.

Another thing I've noticed, it took a long time for the team to get to grips with Ariola tactics. Their first 11 games of the season:
wins one (Burney)
draws 3
losses 7

To get 19 PL goals when they'd lost nearly a 1/3rd of the season before they clicked, impressive imo.

I'm glad to see a goal scorer brought in. Well, anyone at this stage. I'm hopeful as to what he could do with this supporting cast. It's not as if we specialize in getting service from out wide or ball movement up the pitch but he'll certainly be playing with a better cast around him now.

Good luck to the big fella. Definitely not everyone’s choice but he’ll give us something completely different from what we have just now. He’s the type of striker that can stretch teams and that gives our midfield more space to play. His goals are penalty box goals and has that old school finisher feel to him. 15+ goals should be expected and I’m confident he’ll do that. If Sonny can add similar amount of to last season and sign another wide player who can contribute goal wise then we are in a good position. Need more goals coming from midfielders too.

If anyone has any footage of his goals from the previous season could you put them up.

Go on Big bad Dom. COYS
A penalty box striker is exactly what we need,

When needed playing both Solanke and Richy , both penalty box players , could cause mayhem for opponents. One thing from the Bayern game is that we need to learn to stop playing the ball out from the back when it’s not safe to do so.
