At Bournemouth Solanke made 216 appearances in all competitions, scoring 77 goals and last term, he featured for Bournemouth in every one of their 38 Premier League games, finishing as joint fourth highest PL goalscorer netting 19 goals across the campaign (a goal every other game for a struggling side).

His impressive form continued, as he scored his first senior hat-trick against Nottingham Forest, which helped him claim the Premier League Player of the Month Award for December, 2023.

We can do although once a player is given an official number we usually don’t let them change it until the next season.

The only exception can think of is when Adebayor took Van Der Vaart’s 10 shirt after the season had started. Players out on loan also don’t have their shirt numbers reassigned.

We could wait a bit before giving Solanke a number though, we’ve done that in the past as well.

I think there's something about once you have played a competitive game you are locked in for the season with your number. That's why United had to jump through a bunch of hoops to give Ronaldo back the number 7 for his second spell. Cavani had already played games as the season had started.
