Dropped a message to my contact but nothing just yet. He was out on the lash last night as it was his birthday so is probably still sleeping off a hangover in a bush somewhere.
Early this morning someone on the radio seemed sure that Trippier was starting.

I'm sooo ITK.

Apparently -

Pickford
Trippier
Walker
Maguire
Stones
Shaw
Rice
Phillips
Mount
Sterling
Kane

Very conservative dropping Saka but I can't blame Southgate for going with 5 at the back really. We have the players on the bench to win this late or in extra-time.

Beauty of that starting line up is that during the match with 1 single sub - Trippier off for Saka - we can switch to a legit 433

A/ I'm working for a British firm. no one's fucking replying and they all have messages they'll be back on Tuesday. ffs the facility agreement needs closing on Wednesday! Shame there aren't more Scottish attorneys

B/ April 2022 is going to be a baby boom month. So many new Harrys and Gareths

I should imagine the game plan will be to keep things tight and not give anything away, and then bring on the likes of Saka, Sancho and/or Rashford late on in the game or in extra time when the Italians are hopefully blowing out of their arses a bit, as they were again Spain. Spain couldn't get the job done but we have a better attack than they do, far better in fact. Of course an early goal changes a lot for both sides. I genuinely think the winner will be whoever gets their noses in front first. You certainly don't want to be going one down against the Italians.

Keep it tight until changes - our bench is good so that any changes we make won't necessarily make the team weaker.

If we're ahead or at 0 0 around the 60 minute mark that will be great.

Early goal for Italy cocks it right up.

Early goal for Italy and I'm browsing PornHub instead. I can't take the dissapointment.

Don’t wanna be a goal down to the Italians with twenty mins to go.

The levels of time wasting shithousery would be off the fucking charts.
That would be the worst......

Early penalty for Italy would also be the stuff of nightmares a la Champions league final 2019.

Is it to much to ask that we go 3 nil up in the first half and then spend the second half shouting Ole, Ole.....

I don't think Solskjaer is going to help us!

I've been confident all tournament that we would beat Italy if we played them. I've always thought that pace up front could beat them and we have that in abundance. But the closer it gets, the more I'm thinking they'll just have a little too much know how and savvy for us. We're still a young team and we'll be better in a few years time than we are now without a shadow of a doubt , just as long as we don't have someone useless in charge.

I'm bottling it, basically. Might watch Steptoe & Son instead.
