Ex-Spurs Player Eric Dier

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He was Dembele and Wanyama's backup, he was Toby/Jan's backup, he was even Walker/Trippier's backup.

He was always more than a back-up:

14/15 - 36 apps
15/16 - 51 apps
16/17 - 48 apps
17/18 - 47 apps

18/19 - 28 apps(*) / 22 missing via illness & injury

We bought him from Sporting for 5m. He's a Janssen, a Nkoudu, a fucking Wimmer, he should have gone the same way as his peers. Rotting in some second/third tier league hoping to snatch a conference league spot.

Where he came from & for how much matters not in this context.... If it did, Mahrez & Vardy could be added to your list along with all those gems at Brighton people have been lusting over.

My 16 year old kid has a friend that lives down the street who looks like Eric Dier.
I’ve banned him from my house ages ago . I won’t even say hello to him .That’s the irrational behaviour that this club does to you.

Jesus Christ, 2014.

Cunt's nearly been here a decade.

Says it all really.

Hm... I guess you're right. I seem to have completely erased him from my memory. All remember is the long distance goal he scored against city(?).

Some players play week in week out and don't even have enough notable moments to realize they're there.

Contract's up in a year. Sell him in the summer for whatever we can get and promote an academy player to the squad. He is the benchmark of mediocrity in this team and is paid handsomely for the privilege.

Not one of these players (bar Harry) should even be discussing an extension until a new coach has had a good look at them.

Don’t think he’ll (want to) go. Might be able to push him out of the door as he’ll need playing time for a last decent contract at 29. However, unless we bring in 3CBs then he’s likely to get minutes.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a short extension to boost his value

Looks as bad on the coaching as well as the players.

Kane, Dier, Forster clearly zero communication.

No clear set of rules on how to deal with these situations.

It's a joke really. You can see why Conte said they didn't defend as a team but where is the evidence of coaching there as well? It's not fucking pre-season.

Dier can be sold now though. His race is run as Spurs.

I always used to like Dier. Thought he did really well in our 3 good seasons under Poch and he just seems like a decent bloke. But since his illness in 2018 he's been struggling. He had a good spell initially under Conte but thats been it for 5 years.

I thought it might be worth keeping him for the last year of his contract but enoughs enough. He just switches off way too much, isnt mobile and like Hojbjerg is now part of the problem. We have to get away from these average players that have been mainstays for the last 3 seasons.

Probably had one of the luckiest breaks in football. FA family connections. Running the hospitality programme for euro 2004. British born, gets into the Portuguese footballing system fairly easy.

If you watch this guy (especially when he was in midfield) there were times when he truly looked like a league two footballer. Imagine him in midfield now.

A shining example of why we are so mediocre.

Failed at RB. Failed at CM. Failing at CB.
Maybe we'll stick him up front on another new 6 year deal when Kane goes in the summer.
