Ex-Spurs Player Eric Dier

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He absolutely ran the game against them in the Euros and everything went through him.

I personally think he should be playing central midfield on his own for England with Alli just ahead of him.

To be fair it ain't hard when he isnt closed down, the time they gave him in both games is ridiculous, zero pressure when he is on the ball.
Even more annoying having Rooney drop so fucking deep when both Stones & Dier are ball players. Bet Dier played more forward passes than Rooney.

I think it'd be worth giving this a go with Spurs against teams who are going to park the bus.

IMO we are far braver, we rarely suffer the semi-circle of doom arround the oppo penalty box, because we draw teams onto us, we trust in our players to one/two touch our way out of a press. We are also happy for other teams to have the ball arround the halfway line, whilst we wait for the right moment to win the ball back.
Rooney would make it in our team he needs 3 or 4 touches, slows the game down.

Allerdyce is missing a trick if he doesn't retain the Dier-Alli-Kane spine (at CDM, CAM, and striker respectively) from Spurs' lineup. It'd allow them to gain chemistry both internationally and at club level, taking the form with them.

That he could opt for Rooney instead and bend the rest of the team around him is crazy.

Observed that he plays the most numbers of long balls besides Alder, while everyone else mostly play short passes. Should be encouraged to develop on that more, as a result possess a wide range of passings to control games from the base. With great tackling, positioning, passing such height, he shall remain me of Pep Guardiola as a player....
