For the love of God can we have a decent free kick.

It's a dice roll, but Kane on FKs makes me angry and I don't like being angry. :(

Thats for the average players. A good freekick taker could be scoring 1 in every 9. The average is probably dragged down by our players . 1 in a 100 at least. When was the last direct freekick we've scored? Winks' cross doesnt count.

Someone here was throwing about stats quite recently..... IIRC Eriksen would only get 2 or 3 FK goals per season.......

Even if Kane was a half decent free kick taker (he’s not), I would argue that as our No.9 his best position is in the box looking for rebounds and half chances from the free kick.

The fact that he's not means I 100% agree with you.

I wish they would ask questions like this to Conte in press conferences. Kane and Dier are not good at free kicks, Lo Celso's look like someone filled the ball with helium... How do we have not a one person who can hit the target with some pace? Ever since Eriksen stopped trying a few years ago we have been cursed...

Did anyone do anything involving an Indian burial ground??

It's pretty embarrassing and disrespectful to the rest of the squad that we are still letting Kane take free kicks. Unless he somehow bangs them in in training. The only possible explanation is that the rest of them are even worse but I'd find that amazing. You could go to League 2 and get better free kick takers than us.

It's like saying to the rest of the squad "He's our best player/highest earner so he gets to take free kicks even if he sucks at them." That's not how a TEAM is supposed to work.
But theyre actually musnt be anyone better. Dont see why son hadnt tried more but who else is there

Free Kicks, Corners, Throw-ins, even kick offs need to be practiced at least a couple of times a week
we need to get a coaches who specialist in free kicks etc, they are a big part of the game
watch our free kicks we never have someone running down the side and croosing from byline
watch our throw-in's its always the same player runs short and knocks ball back th thrower, or thrower throws back to LWB/RWB position

when i coached kids/youths/women we practice throw-ins, kick offs, free kicks, we had 3 or 4 moves for each and everyone had a go at each position, for the first few sessions it added an hour to the training, but it was done before the season started, then we did it at the end of training ( we split into 3/4 groups and practice the lot in 15/20 mins) before they played a kickabout match
with our kick off move we either got a shot on target or a goal near every time

Regards to throw ins. Why don't we have a long throwin in the side. You can't be offside for a throw in. Now I am not saying we need throw long every time. But they can cause panic and I don't see why we don't have occasional go at using one.

it appears to me as many coaches/managers do it the same/similar way they were trained
i was lucky my daughter was good footballer and hockey player so i got to see lots of different coaching/training drills, my lad was good footballer and cricketer so i told drills from the good coaches there
then I'd adapt the drills to fit other sports,
watch many of these training sessions how often are players standing waiting for their turn, instead of have 2/3 similar practices going on at same time, player takes turn (right foot shoot) run to next practice (left foot) run to next etc etc

Just looked it up. He scored 8 in the Premier League, which puts him in the top 10 list since it started. He also scored free kicks in cup games. Pretty sure he scored one in the league cup semi to help get to the final under Poch. Again pretty sure in final he struct the woodwork from a free kick when it was nil nil. Typical Spurs.
Would like to see how many he scored season by season in all comps. I suspect it tailed off.
So 8 in six years. That's not terrible of course but hardly proflic. The most recent I remember was against Juve before he left.
