Why is one 'stepped down' and the other, in a much more influential role, still in place?
 
This is all down to the licence fee situation .

Give the odious little shit his job back, tell him that he can tweet and preach whatever bollocks he wants 24 hrs a day, even during the programme if it makes him feel better. Then all his mates and followers will all be happy little bunnies.

But in return , the bbc license fee goes to subscription only …. Surely that’s fair enough ?

I never said Lineker should be sacked. The BBC has demostrated that it doesn't give a shit about extreme political views before so Lineker shouldn't be expected to keep quiet.

If the other pricks, like Alan Sugar were dealt with similarly, his dismissal would have some credibility.

My dad took me to a charity cricket match in the summer of 92 where Lineker was on the line up. Took my #10 Hummel shirt, an autograph book, excited for what felt like an eternity leading up to the day.. only to get there and he cancelled last minute as he was flying to Japan to join Grampus Eight.

Not only did I not get to meet him, he also left my club. He was no longer my hero from that moment anyway.

They had crowd noise only on the red button in the early days of sky. Rumour was it was too successful and they got rid. *They need their commentators to differentiate other sources.

Google says I can turn down my center speaker for surround sound and get crowd only... It doesn't work.

Im for free speech. But for both sides. If he came out on opposite side of these arguements on immigration would all these people be jumping on the bandwagon with him.
Probably a basic way to look at it
