Ex-Spurs Player Giovani Lo Celso

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I always find it weird when people talk about red wine or white wine as if every red and every white are identical. I like some reds and some whites, but most I find completely unpalitible
Totally agree, I hate it when someone says in the pub "Oh I tried red wine once, didn't like it". I really have struggled to enjoy any white wine though and I have seriously experimented over the years.

Lo Celso and Ndombele were starting matches before your arrival, now they're not, is it a case of them having to earn your trust?

Not my trust. It is not about my trust and I know them very, very well. It is not like I don't know them, I know the qualities they have, I know why the club bought them, I know what the club saw in them. I think good buys. I think good decisions and of course they will play with me. I always think that people who come from abroad, from different leagues need more time to adapt to the Premier League, but great potential and I am more than happy to have them.

Well quite. If you think that this is fair game for humour I’d happily go along with it, but that would mean I can call you Americunts. And I know you don’t want to hear this, but not everyone likes to belittle other countries with a deliberate ignorance of their collective description. Basically, what is it with you cunts? Are you born arseholes, or is it something you’re taught?

It was a joke man. Lighten up. I'm not making fun of anyone. I bet you're a riot at parties... You may want to go check my post history and see how I constantly make jokes on myself about being an inbred southerner. And if you are gonna call me an asshole at least do it in my native language. I had to put 'arsehole' into google translate just to see what it meant.

Isn't Marca a really bad source?

Probably but I’m sure he is frustrated, all players want to play. If he thinks he has a right to play just because he cost a lot of money, he is not going to succeed here. Work hard and show you are better than the others, that is the only way to reach the starting XI. It’s the same for every player.

At Real Betis he was not competing with Son, Dele, Ndombele, Lamela, Lucas, Sissoko, Eriksen, Winks etc, he has to adjust to the level of competition. If he’s giving up already then we made a mistake signing him in the first place.

I'm sure he's frustrated to not be starting but we have a ton of games coming up and we will have to rotate. Just work hard and show quality, and he will get his games.

This is another thing Poch was criticised for, integrating signings slowly - which is/was partly justified criticism.

Weird how a new voice saying / doing the same doesn't get the same reaction from fans though.

Jose has had half a dozen training sessions with the squad. He won't know what his best 11 is yet and only has training and previous experience as his guide on who to select for a game. 3 games 3 wins, keep the majority of a winning side - doesn't leave a lot of room for GLC to get a look in. Which is really the way it should be - then when he gets his chance he needs to take it.

We're born assholes and we're also taught to be the best we can be at it. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I'm sure the adaptation curve is really steep on the bench.
