I love the whole 'new country difficulty' line - he has lived in 3 countries before he moved here and had to learn a different language previously. He is far more conditioned to this than most other players and why is there always an automatic assumption foreign players must need time. How much time did VDV and Berbatov need with us exactly? They didn't - Lukaku is one of the top scorers in Italy - can't speak the language. The selectivism on show is quite something - you never get this with a Stambouli or a Gilberto but put a large price tag on a player and suddenly there is references to Robert Pieres and how difficult the circumstances have been.

Hope it's not serious - just when we looked like we were going to have a full team to choose from, and Gio was about the only bright spark before the season closed down.

Let's wait to hear something official from the club. If it's just a light knock.. then we may not hear anything as the game is still just under 2 weeks away..and they may not announce fitness/injuries or players until a few days before the game. Maybe 1 week before the game max.

Its either recurring or he injured it in training.
There were always going to be injuries after such a long time without playing, all clubs will have to deal with it. The players have not been given enough time to prepare.
You just know the likes of Eric Dier will be fully fit throughout these 9 games while the few players we have who can actually play football will drop like flies
