Just where the fuck is Levy getting all this money from?

Fuck me, we’re in a parallel universe here, I don’t know what the fuck is going on but all this spending after years of penny pinching is just making me so uncomfortable.
This was always going to happen after we refinanced the stadium debt last summer, I will admit I am surprised it is occurring in the middle of a pandemic where our £1b asset basically can't generate any revenue.

Yeah that’s what I said above.

Perhaps Levy has finally learnt to let his hair down and finally have some fun.

EDIT: actually, he has no hair, so what the fuck is going on??!!

Even if we get Skriniar we would of still spend around the same as last summer
People acting like Levy didn't spend a lot last summer is amusing, but we didn't spend anything the previous summer in 2018, so it balanced out.

I said at the beginning of the window that Levy could spend around £50m net without much issue and if these rumors are true that is where we are going to end up.

Ya I saw that after I posted but I can't be arsed to read everything in a thread before I insert my witty comments.

It makes you wonder whether Poch would have been afforded these riches had he not lost the plot.
The amount spent (fees and wages) is strange considering the conditions recently and the uncertainty of the coming months.

I'm not complaining though. However... the pressure will really be on José to deliver. I said the same of Klopp last season. It was his last chance. If he didn't win the league then he was a failure. I don't think that's true for José this season, but with the trust shown in him by the chairman, he will have to repay him with results.

Also I'd love to know the nitty gritty of the vision for the club. Is it really world domination? Or is it more along the lines of win a trophy every now and then and stay safely in the top 4.
There were rumours that Poch did have funds available, but he chose not to spend, as he didn't feel he could improve on the players we had. Don't know how much of that is true, but the money could have been used to strengthen the squad.

So far, apart from Bale, all our new signings will earn less per week than Toby Alderweireld, for example.
That may be so, but a couple of things come to mind.

What costs are we saving in order to fund these extra(?) wages? Of the players we are thinking will go, are we going to be better or worse off on a weekly basis? If Foyth goes does Reggie get paid less than him? If Aurier goes does Doherty earn less than him? What Alderweireld earns is neither here nor there. Hs cost was here last term, and is a constant this season too.

Also, with no end in sight of the restrictions on crowds, as has been said, a pretty substantial revenue stream has had the tap turned off indefinitely with not being able to use the stadium. So this continued level of spending (equal to last year) is still, to me at least, somewhat surprising.

I don’t know man, but it’s just so uncomfortable, you know what I mean??

It’s like wearing Y fronts for 15 years and wearing boxers for the first time - like shit’s all dangling loose and it’s just not right, you know?

I’m just so used to austerity I can’t deal with all this carefree spending shit.
Maybe Uncle Joe has sold a yacht?

Why would Inter take a 31 y.o. CB on (likely) twice the wages of a 25 y.o. CB?
Conte is a big fan and probably suits there back 3 more then skrinier. Serie a is slower paced too. I would take it. Toby has one more good season left imo and how much would we get for him say next year. Doesn't mess up hq too.
