I thought of that's as well but if his contract runs through to 2022 then I can't see him doing both jobs. That's tough in the modern game.
I don't think he would. We'd probably agree some kind of compensation with the FA for the remaining year.

I voted Ten Hag from the start and still think he's the best option for us. I would be happy if we got Potter or Nagelsmann. I love Sarri's football and I think he is a brilliant manager if given time, but the fact that we have failed with 3 ex-Chelsea makes him a no-no for me. I don't get where the love for Rodgers comes, he's a good coach but his Leicester team is no slouch. Bosz would be a mad appointment, a fun one for sure, but a completely mad one...

If Southgate, or any other international manager for that matter wanted out, the relevant FA are hardly likely to keep them against their will. It would be detrimental to their aims.
Anyway. Perhaps it's a coach who's contract expires after the tournament.
Nagelsmann is my first choice but that’s a fine list. Between Nagelsmann or Potter I can see some great football being played with them. I hope we have a DoF so the manager can concentrate on the coaching.
I’d rather also get Howe or Parker before Southgate. But those are all such meh managers. We need a new style and philosophy. And to cut the deadwood out. I feel Levy will get a new DOF. he knows he’s been fucking up so much lately

As for Southgate: Doesn't exactly scream progressive attacking football does he? Which seems to be the recruitment M.O based on what the journos are saying.
Levy is no more qualified to be looking after the football side than you or me. He is a fantastic businessman but he isn’t a former player or coach, the football vision should not be created by an accountant. We badly need a DoF and badly need one with power who isn’t a yes man.
For me Potters the best choice to get the club moving in the right direction working with the youth we have and bringing them through and making first class signings on the cheap.
