Don’t go blaming injuries we get now on Ange mate. That’s fucking pathetic.
You may be right, you may be wrong. Intelligent training can minimise the risk of getting ACL damage, but obviously it can't be eliminated completely. Last season's training regime may or may not have been a contributory factor in making Madders susceptible/less susceptible to this damage. We can't be sure either way.

All we know is that it's devastating for the poor guy. I just hope he's got the mental strength to deal with it.

Get well soon, Madders :(

How can Ange be responsible for an ACL that's happened months after he's gone? Anyone care to explain the medical science behind that?

He’ll be 30 when he fully recovers, without his previous pace and wiggle, which is obviously crucial to his playstyle.

Absolutely devastated. Not just for this season, but because we have likely seen the last of one of our most exciting players in recent memory. Madders’ prime is over. It’s such a shame, he is a good egg and has real match winning quality. I’m truly gutted.

The fitness and conditioning work was poor all the way throughout last season. The load on players was not managed well at all. Maddison must be devastated gutted for him. Hopefully we have a backroom of adults and we'll get back to general levels of these injuries not end of days settings of the previous two years.

Read this?...

Correct training can minimise the risks, so it follows that incorrect training may have the opposite effect. I don't pretend to know what category Ange's training regime falls into, but I do know we had a bloody lot of injuries last season.

That fat cunt leaves Frank a bunch of players he's physically wrecked with his nonsensical chaosball and it's Frank's fault.

fml
Its hilarious the mugs pretending how we fed trained and conditioned for two years has zero implications for your current condition. Have they never been to even a GP? Do they think humans simply have a reset button? Remember that Celtic fan came on and told us enjoy the injuries when Ange arrived. I actually went back an apologised for the stick I gave him. Same bloke said post Ange it took toll on the squad and Celtic had a spike that settled out.

And more injuries to come, no doubt.

Down to overly stressed bodies over too long a period.

And we're in no way prepared for them.

Not for a CL season.

Frank is actually the shining light in the darkness and people want to slide in sly little digs to try and retro-fix Fat Angs's atrocious handling of the squad.

Rancid cultists.

Playing intense « friendlies « in distant parts of the world , in pre-season , may well be lucrative ; but they have hidden costs.

If you push people’s bodies to the limit 11 months of the year then something’s gonna give eventually.

Same is happening in Cricket and Tennis btw .

Get well soon Madders .

Relax

Maddison has played 18 mins over the last couple of months

He's just fragile so this could always happen to him

Yeah, he's a writeoff this season. Probably should give him the whole season to recover.

Damaging an ACL makes it more likely to redamage, and also increases the chances in the other leg as you compensate. Apparently a 33% reoccurance rate in younger atheletes within 2 years.

Even if he does come back properly, there's a decent chance it could happen again.

He's essentially a luxury player at this point. We need to build without him and he could possibly make some limited appearances in future

Everyone here knows I'm not an Ange fan, but he can't be blamed for this. Once ACL injury maybe, but not a second with no contact. Its an issue with either the repair or just years of football wearing on the ligament
