Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

His Spurs career is effectively over.

Even when he is back fit next summer he won't be the same player, will only have a year left on his contract and he is injury prone anyway.

Chances are he'll do a knee or hamstring again not long after. Sounds horrible to say but it's reality.

The club have no excuse with 3 weeks left of the window to start moving aggressively for creative players.

A real fcuking shame for Maddison, especially as he seems to have a real affinity for the club, as well as not being able to do what he loves doing.

Being honest, I think it best to see a Spurs team of the future without his services. His body is no longer up to it, and its certainly not a body that can carry the necessary load.

A pity.

If you could have picked the worst player to be injured and away from the squad for an extended period, straight after losing Son… you’d have to say Maddison is the one player who makes an effort to be part of every player group. He gets on with Brennan, Gray, Sarr, Odobert, Romero, Bentancur, VDV…

We were reading the same script. Amazing.

Sadly he is now in the catagory
" what could have been "

That’s dragusin bentancour and madders all with ACL in the last 2? years
Heres hoping we get 1 season without further serious injuries 🙏

Well, that just sucks - for him and us.
Considering we had been crying out for a Maddison-type since Eriksen left, and we actually signed Maddison, such a shame that it never really got off the ground.
Ah well, let's just hope that we'll be back in the market for a replacement PDQ!

wouldnt give up on him, hes not an athlete sure, but hes a natural footballer, he can slightly tune his game to stay healthy.

time will tell, but to write someone off whos 28 years old in 2025 is harsh, we aint in the 90s anymore.

True, I didn't quite write him off however, as opposed to say his Spurs career, as in being an integral part of the squad is likely to be over.

Unlike Rodri for example, this isn't Maddison's first long to longish-term injury, and he sadly just seems susceptible, like too many of our players.

I hope of course that you are right.

Out for the whole season then by the sound of it... shite. Need a #10 ASAP.

Get well soon Madders!
Report says majority of the season, technically that could mean 51% of it...

Not that it makes it much better, we needed another number 10 even with him fit, but it's rarer these days that you see a player miss an entire season than back in the 90's/early 2000s.
