Really quite sad about this news, it could close this chapter of his career. Hoping his recovery goes as well as it possibly can do.

Why is it ridiculous?

So you don’t know the severity of the injury! So flipping what & do you think they care?

If that’s the reason (or it could be the swelling as spurs9 suggested) it’s common sense they keep it quiet as obviously if he’s out for the season or just a month is bound to make a difference to the apparent desperation to recruit and potentially the transfer price.

But don’t let that get in the way of you having another opportunity to pointlessly criticise the club! 🙄
I just don’t see it’s a factor - everyone knew it was an ACL. The whole fanbase is obsessed with squeezing every deal. When you are desperate, pay the asking price and close the deal. Levy ‘wins’ on most negotiations, we can lose a few for the odd good player and not do a Leeds

Yeah, he's a writeoff this season. Probably should give him the whole season to recover.

Damaging an ACL makes it more likely to redamage, and also increases the chances in the other leg as you compensate. Apparently a 33% reoccurance rate in younger atheletes within 2 years.

Even if he does come back properly, there's a decent chance it could happen again.
