Has anyone on here actually watched Trippier play for Athletico. Or is it just a good story for the press to keep going on about. He didn’t look great when he played for England recently.
He cannot defend against top class wide players. That won’t change.
No doubt Foyth will be right back after internationals.
Started excellently. Performances have levelled out and he's doing a decent job. But his flaws still exist.

Trippier had been HORRENDOUS for us for a long time. No one predicted he'd start this well at Atletico.
Hahahaha

Now he’s suddenly better....no he was injured and out of form but was always a good player.

Please don’t pretend that’s the first time I said that...
I'd give Sess time because he's 19 and that's what you give youngsters at a new club. He could play in any number of positions. It's not guaranteed Poch will use him at LB.

Poch's plan could very well be.....

Son-------Lo Celso-------Sessegnon

If so, full backs are even more critical.

He won’t get much time if we sign his replacement while he’s injured.
Under Poch, LBs are wingers....I doubt you’ll see Sessengon playing as an AM.

And if he is, ahead or Moura, words fail me

He has done ok. Not amazing or anything. We need to improve on him. Cost us a lot of goals last season. He suits a slower league as he is slow & gets caught up field in the premiership & is too slow to recover & get back in position.
I much prefer full backs with pace as it adds more balance. I hope he does well out there. The More British players abroad in other major leagues the better.

My thoughts on the current Tottenham situation.

Trippier wasn’t good enough, yet he was keeping out the right backs we have been left with. The club are now left in a worse position then when we had Trippier!

The hierarchy were too afraid to let players such as Eriksen and Alderweireld go, when in fact they should have been brave, as Pochettino has mentioned before, sold the wantaways and invested in new blood! We wouldn’t be in a worse situation than what we are now. We were after Fernandes, Dybala, Van de Beek yet we tried desperately to hold onto players who are leaving anyway this summer!

Money was spent, which we all appreciate, but the money that was spent was what you’d expect to spend in a summer, not after having gone 2 windows without signing. We stood still and let others overtake. We have the same players starting from 3-4 years ago. Pochettino is now paying the price for the board neglecting the squad.

He wouldn't be Sessegnon's replacement. He would be Rose's.

Trippier is not suddenly better. He's had a few good games, a few steady ones and one horror show. It's certainly not a big enough sample to say he's back to the big time. Considering you've admitted you haven't watched Atletico I'd fall back on pretending you have a clue about his form.

He was a shit show for us, for more than a year. If you don't believe me, believe him...

As for Sess, he wouldn't be ahead of Lucas, that is one option that I said COULD be on Poch's mind for Sess. Sess is 19. He could easily be Son or Lucas' understudy. To eventually take over the 27 year olds in a few years when they are 30 and he is 22. Until he's fit we won't know.

Why would I watch Atletico?
Did you watch Fulham when you decided Sessengon was good?

One player in January.

Wilmar Barrios. Should have got him last year, would absolutely love him this year.

Gone are the days of £13million though, probably start at £30million

Not the year before. He was stunning. Unsurprisingly, an 18 year old in his first year of Prem football struggled in the worst side in the League.

Either way, you can't pretend to know about Trippier this season unless you've watched him.

Stunning in the Champo and shite in the PL.
Not really a reason to weigh out 25M when he can’t even play.

I know Trippier played well, because I’ve read about him most weeks. I’m not one of those people who pretends they watch other teams for 90 minutes every week.

I didn’t see Liverpool play the other day, but if Sky, sqwaka, BBC and ESPN all gave Salah an 8, would it be fair to say he played well by all accounts?

You and certain others seem desperate to paint Trippier into the Champo player you painted him as an you’re gutted he’s doing well at a massive club under a manager we’d all sell Poch down the river for.

If the reviews and ratings had given him a 3 every week, would you question people who had read he was doing shit, and say they can’t judge? Hmmmmmmm yeah alright

Dunno why you feel the need to speak for me.

I'm actually chuffed Tripps is doing well. He's one of the guys that always showed passion on the pitch and irrespective of his own performances was, like Winks and Lamela, always mad for it when we scored.

It's also no surprise he's improved in a defence which has been the best in Europe for nearly a decade.

Doesn't mean if we'd kept him we'd have got the same performances.

Its like with everything. The absence makes the player better. A week ago, Dier was the answer.

You're hilarious. You deride people for dismissing Trippier, who we watched the past 5 seasons of him then dismiss Sess yourself having no doubt less knowledge of Sess than we do of Tripps.

Tripps was done here. He needed a change and we needed a change.

Yes, I watch La Liga (on again in half hour) and CL highlights every week. Much like our own Match of the Day the big clubs dominate the extended highlights. It's really not as hard as you think.

In fact, the Bundesliga highlights were on not long ago as well.

You've made a bullshit claim I hated Tripps when in fact the fella was a diamond in my eyes. Doubly so for his England efforts.

You seem to associate honest feedback of a player's performances with hatred.

Nah mate, otherwise our whole current squad I hate too.

But you've tried to twist the conversation away from what it was, a discussion on getting a RB in to a breakdown of an oppo player.

Haha cool. You had the chance with Ziyech last summer he could be picked up for 30 million, but they just gave him a new contract and removed the buy-out clause. So his price will also be a lot higher. As an Ajax fan I can see why you would want those guys.
Didn't know you supported Ajax. Good team. Yeah, it's surprising no one paid the 30m release price for him. That's a bargain. You are very good at producing & scouting players.

I remember reading something about us having been in contact with Ziyech but he turned us down. Something about if he was going to leave Ajax it was for Bayern.

Fair enough.

If Levy is actually willing to back Poch, because there will be hell to pay if Poch leaves from the fans, then we need to spend in January.

Sell the wantaways.. Eriksen, Rose, Alderweireld and Aurier.
Play the players that want to be here.. Sanchez, Lucas, Alli.
Strengthen positions we need the most.. right back, centre half and defensive mid. Atal, Ake and Berge would be perfect.
