I wouldnt mind seeing Davies on the way out. Even as back up hes a bit shit.
I used to have a soft spot for him because of his performances after Rose was injured a few years ago, but I'm just tired of him now.

Average players like Davies, Moura, Sanchez, Lamela, Winks just need to be moved on after a few years. They've outstayed their welcome. These guys don't perform against shit teams in the Europa league, and certainly don't keep the starters on their toes.

He's also not home grown, so it would be good to replace him with a homegrown alternative, someone experienced and cheap, with Cirkin's eventual accession to the first team in mind.

The passing out from the back was half the problem yesterday. Hart, Sanchez, Tanganga, Davies and Doherty. None are comfortable on the ball.
Their average of 66% passing accuracy against LASK still shocks me - Doherty and Tanganga at 66%, Sanchez at 75% (hilariously our highest %), Davies at 59%(!!) I can't count how many times they just randomly lumped it forward and lost the ball under no pressure in the first half... actually made me wonder if something was odd about the pitch or the ball given the weather but that's reaching for it. Typically the defenders should have the highest % too so I don't know what happened there, even though he hasn't played well all season Doherty's usually above 80% for example.

We do need a squad refresh, I would've preferred throwing on the youngsters against LASK for example than playing unmotivated B-teamers, but as meh as some of our squad are this is a really tricky environment to do an overhaul. Not even really so much the buying but the selling front. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we buy anyone in January but it'd still be useful to offload the likes of Rose and Gedson.

Dele is a different pot since his value is more fluid, a few good games could rocket it back.

So is Winks, simply because he is a full HG and actually can hold his own in lesser games most of the time. When I look at him I remember the likes of Mason, who could still have done a job despite just being in the 25 man squad.

But Gazza is just pointless, had his chances and fluffed them. Sissoko is quite blatantly bloating the budget for very replacable services and lastly Lamela has just been terrible value, no idea how he is still here.
Finally Sanchez has lost (at least my) confidence that he will develop significantly onwards from now.

Between them, we are looking at over 200k/w in wages and fees of at least 40-50m.

Sanchez was looking a real find when we bought him, but now he looks to have lost confidence.
If he goes I reckon he will end up being a good player in the right team which is not happening here at the moment.

Thursday the midfield of Ndombele , Hjojberg and GLC wasn’t good enough, we need Sissoko in there so he isn’t getting sold anytime soon! In an ideal world Skipp would come back and make that place his own , if not I do think we need to start looking for a similar player to Sissoko but with more of a footballing brain

I disagree. We need a number 8 or a number 6 who is a natural in the position.

For 30m and 100k/w that shouldn't be impossible.

Any amount of them that would improve us. Renato Sanches(would love this, a little injury prone but looks top class for Lille), K Phillips, Sander Berge (unsure, but maybe a cheapish pickup from relegated team) Bissouma, Douglas Luiz, Ndidi etc. I'd be keeping an eye on Monaco this year, not that I think the team is particularly good but I like the look of Fofana and Tchouameni in midfield.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us move for something in Jan, an injury to Sissoko or Hojbjerg and I don't see anybody else that allows us to play the way Jose wants us to play.

And even so the "BuT wHo cOuLd wE sIgn tO rEplCace Him" is always bullshit.

Loads of options. Yeah we cant sign before january, but neither can we sell so what is the problem

Totally, defenders should have 80-90% passing accuracy. They all need getting rid off. Part of the reason the midfield have no time is beacuse the defence give them hospital balls.

LASK pressed well, but part of the problem is our defence on the night and goal keeper cant pass. IIRC the reason hart was sold is because hes no good with the ball at his feet. That was highlighted against LASK.
