I think you will find he can do a lot more than Sissoko as a CM - and even create more goals and contribute to the game alongside Ndombele and Hojbjerg, which Sissoko doesn't that much

I think his point is that he's still playing under Mourinho. So it doesn't matter what he "brings"
He's still going to be bypassed or creatively stifled.
Ndombeles performances are a testament of his ability. And he's probably playing at 60% of his potential right now because of the system and tactics deployed of him.
Thought it might be of interest that KWP was the best rated player in Southampton's Boxing day match in a number of polls. He's played every minute of every PL match this season - and Southampton are just a point behind Spurs.
I'm really pleased we bought Hojbjerg who has probably been one of our best buys in recent years, but think we might have got an even better deal by paying a bit more and keeping KWP. Definitely a ball dropped by Poch in not playing KWP more in the 3 or even 4 seasons that he was training with the Spurs first team. Aside from having a RB, he would have helped out or HG (or lack thereof) problem.

We need strengthening in a few areas and I don't think it will all be resolved this january. Personally I think we need more quality in midfield to compliment PEH and Tanguy so that we can actually play a bit of football. I think winks should be moved on now and if he went and we got sabitzer I'd consider that great business. Clearly we need more quality on the right but with lucas bergwijn and bale I don't think we'll do anything there this january.
If Mourinho’s system is to work we need a top CB, another top DM and another hardworking attacker with an eye for a goal like Sabitzer.

Mourinho's system seems to involve packing defence and leaving a huge gap between front and back. He's now getting caught out more and more with this and needs to change tactics far more than personnel.
Also, what happened his bullshit about the squad being too big. Just another Jose soundbite then?
I agree he has an amazing squad to work with and is not using it correctly but if we are being picky on this squad and what fix would improve things most these are the obvious.

We can’t fix everything in Jan but we can fix either the defence or midfield. I think the latter is the easier of the two to do as Sabitzer would sort out the box to box issue, we would then only need cover for Hojbjerg which can wait until the summer if need be. Whereas in defence we’ve issues at centre back and right back... plus we would also need to move players on which will be difficult.
