We need a signing that is going to replace Sissoko in the first team
Skipp will do that next season. Would be a real shame to block his path.We need a signing that is going to replace Sissoko in the first team
He's homegrown. Unless we want to remove another foreign player from the EL squad Dele needs to be replaced with another homegrown player if he leaves. There are quotas that have to be met.
If Sky are to be believed our deadline for possibly recalling Skipp had already transpired when the game with Bristol took place. So if that is true he was definitely there to scout.Only players on Norwich I can think of we'd be interested in are Buendia, Cantwell and Aarons. I don't rate Aarons but would be happy with the other two.
That said, Norwich are 1st in the division and can't see them selling.
I think it's also possible Hitchens was just there to watch Skipp and see if he should be recalled.
Why do we have to replace someone we don't use?!? Does not matter much to me if we have 24 players or 23 if the 24th does not play.
What you said is relevant if this spot is used.
But at this rate he is last resort pick and if situation gets so awful, I guess we just have to give someone from academy the chance.
I just can't see Dele leaving without us having a homegrown player lined up to bring in. I know we focus on Ndombele as 10/Gio as 10 not being enough depth without Dele (given Gio is hurt right now and Ndombele's fitness history isn't great), but I do wonder if we need a pure 10 as much if we switch to the 3-4-3 we saw against Sheffield as our primary formation.
In that formation Ndombele was playing more box to box and Kane was dropping deeper and spraying passes to the likes of Son and Bergjwin. I really liked the formation but feel it may be a bit of a one off or something we only employ against teams that play a back 3, but I think it could be useful for us longer term if we do loan out Dele.
Then we are less limited in who replaces Dele for the rest of the season because we could bring in a more defensive minded DM to rotate with Hojbjerg or a CB to give us more depth there.
What are you on about?Again, in what world do some of you live in(and I don't mean it as mean as it might come off)

FFS Gio has been crippled the whole season, and Alli has still 74 minutes in EPL-
Even if we change the formation, coach will use the players he trusts to actually put the formation in practice.
We could play with 3 "no 10"s, but Alli would still not be one of them.

Serious question - is Skipp able to offer the things Sissoko does and more?Skipp will do that next season. Would be a real shame to block his path.
I agree with the first part. If we are not using Dele, there is no point in keeping him or signing a direct replacement.Pretty much agree.
Not using Dele and keeping him is pointless.
Especially when he's 24 and his value is just continuing to decrease as the weeks move.
Atleast getting him game time elsewhere on loan could mean he raises his stock to either sell for good money or come back and perform better as a squad member.
I actually thought Mclean and Skipp were there best 2 players, Cantwell did ok but Aarons constantly hit the first man with most of his crossesIn said game both Cantwell and Aarons caught my eye.
Cantwell showed excellent vision and controlled Norwich’s creativity.
Aarons started slowly but grew into the game. He’s very tenacious and full of energy. He was up and down the wing all game and he was very good going forward. He did however get out muscled once in his own penalty which is of concern as he’s not very big.
Skipp played well but was never really troubled as Bristol City were poor.
Buendia was very quiet... didn’t do anything of note. Not that he’s good enough for us but McClean in central midfield was much more noticeable than Beundia.

Carrier pigeons
I agree with the first part. If we are not using Dele, there is no point in keeping him or signing a direct replacement.
However, if Dele Alli is gone, even if it's not an CAM/second striker, we'll need another player. Without Alli, Ndombele and Lo Celso would play almost entirely as 10's / advanced 8's (and we know that Lo Celso is injury prone), which means that we would have just three players - Hojbjerg, Winks and Sissoko - covering the double pivot position for the rest of this season.
In my opinion we don't necessarily need another CAM. But unless we want Ndombele to play basically every game and risk his health and physical conditions, we should sign another CM.
Dortmund are really struggling, so I'd guess they'd be willing to pay more than we will.Do like him , there's a few a Gladbach that I wouldn't mind signing.
Depends how they are financially coping, they usually always have to sell on playersDortmund are really struggling, so I'd guess they'd be willing to pay more than we will.
