Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There's 3 broad reasons why we could try and sign a player who is not getting into his team's first XI:

a) His competition for places is genuinely world class- ie Ferran Torres at City was competing with great wingers.
b) He's had a bust up with the manager. Potential attitude issues aside, player could still have sufficient quality and thus be suitable for us.
c) Formation means positional problem at current club that wouldn't apply at Spurs. ie a RB being benched because he's too attacking may still be suitable as a RWB at Spurs.

I don't think any of these reasons apply to Kulu.

Traore is none of those either.

Igula Igula think you'll agree with me on this one.
But I'd prefer one quality new player over 2-3 mediocre additions to our squad depth.

Although that said Morata should be cheap enough it has zero effect on other moves.

Adding him shouldn't have any effect on us getting a quality player like Raphinha (LOL I know no chance we get him but just as an example.)

reeks of rubbish

none of those players are improvements at all

bargain spurs raiding juventus crap

must be christmas over at the juventus forum now

We hear all the time about how Spurs can't move bad players out which is why we are stuck with the deadwood and then in the next post we have multiple links to us buying crap.

I guess the only chance we have of moving our deadwood out is to have us out there on the other end buying our own dogshit players.

Just wanted to confirm that Vlahovic was never going to happen. If there was a chance it was last summer, but this is what we were going to compete against:

Vlahovic deal: The (big) numbers

  • Juventus will pay an initial 70m Euros (£58.3m) to Fiorentina over the next three financial years.
  • They will also pay Fiorentina 10m Euros (£8.3m) in performance-related add-ons.
  • The 11.6m Euros of "additional costs" include 10m Euros (£8.3m) in agent fees plus 1.6m Euros (£1.3m) of solidarity payments towards his youth teams, mainly Partizan Belgrade.
  • The total transfer fee Juventus could pay for Vlahovic is 91.6m Euros (£76.3m).
  • Vlahovic will receive a gross salary of 7m Euros per season for the next four and a half years - a total of 31.5m Euros (£26.2m).
  • It means Juventus have committed a total of 123.1m Euros (£102.5m) to sign Vlahovic.

:moursmall:

We would have offered a loan with option to buy for 30 million.
Juve are mental. He will be on a free next year.

Ditto from me.

A couple of useful additions still wouldn't go a miss though.

Not even a Morata fan; but I'm not bloody minded enough to deny he'd provide potential value as an ST2.

True, but do bear in mind the wage bill.

I'm very worried for our midfield; I was subtly hoping that Conte would get one of Ndombele or GLC firing, thus giving us an option for decent 3 man midfield.

We spent more on Lo Celso + Ndombele. Enic could spend plenty more. We have one of the lower wage bills relative to income. It's a choice. The cost of being cheap is higher in my opinion.

You said we should go and spend like clubs with infinite funds.
After we just made one of the biggest losses in the world of football.
I'm guessing your credit score is appalling.

I guess I was factoring us moving out Ndombele and possibly GLC or Dele. Plus isn't our wage bill fairly low compared to other teams at our (supposed) level?

Our MF is screwed and not just for this year but next year as well. It is hard to see how we are getting to a competent level, let alone a good to great level any time soon.

Now we are likely to be stuck with both of them and frozen out by Conte and/or the club. There's obviously conflicts now so isn't like they are easily migrated back into the side if we need to call on them either.
