This is fair. I think it's also fair to say we're just fans, and that's a pretty good example of why we shouldn't be in control of transfers. It's strange that such a cautious club when it comes to transfers was prepared to pay a record fee and offer an incredible wage for a player with these question marks over his head. We've been hesitant with so many other players.
Humanity is superb, and gets more relevant as the years and months go by since its release.
I think there were more than a few fans who didn't want him, or at least not for that amount of money. That was certainly true in my circle of Spurs-loving friends & family.
Personally, I was on the fence...happy to give the young lad a chance, to see if Poch could get the best out of him and acting like a true pro...but I was concerned about that crazy money. And also by signing both Domb & GLC at the same time knowing we already had Dele.
I think that's the situation we're in now. Because we so rarely splash the cash, loads of us tend to lose all sense of reality when we do spend some dosh...and that's how we find ourselves with total busts like Domb.

I thought Levy did well to get them. Ndombele was even an early signing as I remember. Now they may have frightened him off from spending more than £40m for good!

It's embarrassing as it is a stick the media and fans use to beat us with. It's a stick we don't need to give them. Don't start the process if it's blatantly obvious the player will sign for someone else the moment they call.
If we started the process in January 1st, he'd have signed for Liverpool by January 3rd. Makes no difference when if there is another club involved.
The only potential gain is that we would have longer to find an alternative target.
You think we'd have 'started the process' if his agent would have said "no thanks; he's not interested"?

They were panic signings. after the year of no one, the board changed the policy to sign anyone.Wow. I mean, we've signed our fair load of garbage over the years, but them two? They've cost us an absolute fortune in fees & wages, and it ain't over yet! All that for 7 goals and not even 120 games
I can't remember who it was who said it on here the other day, it went a bit unnoticed...but we should never ever have signed them both in the first place, seen how they're both AMs who like to hog the ball and we already had Dele in the squad. It was just so redundant.

Poch wanted him for ages, we were linked with him in the previous season I remember but we waited until 2019 to sign him, the problem was that Poch wanted him so much I think he was more of a gift from Levy because he hadn't backed him in the previous seasons...wasn't so much about due dilliegence it was more his a reward for your hard work - of course by then it was too late because Poch was mentally done after the CL final.
