His best performances for us were as a DM, when Walker and Rose pushed on he dropped into a third CB. But was mostly a DM.

He's not terrible in a back three. But heavily exposed in a two.

He had about half a season there where the whole team was on fire.
He was never in the same league as a Dembele or Wanyama.
He should never have been any more than a bench utility player who could cover CB, RB or CM occasionally. But somehow our team performances around that time helped create the illusion he was good..

Oh for fuck sake you are total bore.
Liverpool sold Coutinho and Suarez.
Chelsea sold Hazard.
Scum sold van Persie.
ManU sold Ronaldo.

And so on and so on. Even top teams sell their valued players. And then reinvest this money to other players. There are zero fucking news in that. It is massive small club mentality to bitch so much about selling one superstar player. He was first since Walker and if anything we should have used opportunity to sell some more players that preferred to leave, but we held on to them for too long and had to essentially give them away. Like Eriksen, like Dele, like Dier. All of them were in extremely high demand and could have moved for 50+ million. But we held on too long and will end up getting 30 mil combined fee instead of 150-180 million. Did this mean we kept them stars shining? Like fuck it did.

Selling and reinvesting is part of top level football.

But it seems that such explanations are not enough for you. So very quick rundown of our recent transfer history -
19/20 - brought for 150 mil EUR; sold for 65 mil - net spend of 86 mil.
20/21 - brought for 110 mil; sold for 13 mil - net spend 97 mil
21/22 - brought for 96 mil; sold for 34 mil - net spend 61 mil
22/23 - brought for 178 mil; sold for 38 mil - net spend of 139 mil
23/24 - so far brought for 247 mil; sold for 117 mil - net spend 130 mil

I do not expect you to admit nor understand anything but if you would even try to open your eyes, you'd see - even ON TOP of Kane and Winks money we invested 130 mil additionally. And 140 mil season before. So in net terms 270 million invested. Quarter of billion PLUS all money from player sales invested.
Over longer period - average spending of 156 million euros (+ this months incoming transfers!) invested on average and average net spend of 103 million euros for 5 years (!!)

Problem is not spending money, much bigger problem is that this period included players like Ndombele, Sessegnon, Clarke, Regulion and Doherty that have given back little. Plus two big question marks (but as of now very questionable value for money signings) Richie and Lo Celso.
However across last 3 seasons we have got in following players - Vicario, Porro, Udogie, Romero, van de Ven, Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison and Kulusevski - that is TEN quality starting players + Son as only starting player remaining from "old tmes".

So maybe time to shut the fuck up for a change and face facts - we DO spend money. And we HAVE gotten massive amounts of quality through door. From these players, two young superstars are committed to the club until 2030!

It doesn't even need to be a signing, a new rumour would be great. Maybe Mbappe fancies a change of environment. Can we start spreading that? If I hear Dragusin's name one more time before we actually sign him I'm going to shit myself in protest.
