Third season syndrome was obvious. The board were a bit stupid to give him a long contract and not fully back him. Not sure of the logic.
I'm tired of reading that Mourinho wasn't backed. They absolutely showered the cunt with money and almost every single transfer he made was a disaster.

Think the problem is not the money but the personal they signed. Big issue at United was that most of the players Mourinho wanted where old players who could make a big impact from the start hence the strong links to Toby Perisic and Naingolan. However United refused to sign who he wanted, after backing him before with Matic and being stuck with a player for 3 years on huge wages and past his best, messed about all summer and spunked 50million on Fred.

Anyone who thinks this isn't a big reason the wheels fell off the Bus is wrong IMO. Mourinho was a cunt in how he acted but he acted this way to show the board and fans how shit that team is and how wrong the board was.

At the end of the day he doesn't care about United and the worst that could happen was he gets a multi million pay off and goes back to Italy

It is pretty clear and well documented that they showered the money in the wrong areas due to marketability of the players. They bought midfielders and attackers when defenders were top of the priority list. The entire club at United is structured by cashflow and not what player the manager needs most on the pitch to win the league, and it is true that they still cannot compete with City, who went out and bought four defenders for Pep.

Now, that said, Poch in the same situation still gets United into the top 4. He stays cool when Mourinho gets hot. But to blame the entire transfer policy on Mourinho is also tiring to read. United are fucked at the top regardless of who the manager is. They have turned into Chelsea. Neither Chelsea or United did back Mourinho fully when the shit hit the fan. That is why it is stupid and pointless giving him a long term deal, but once it is given, what is the point in sacking him. No one has seen what he can do in a fourth season.

Spend 466 million in total for the likes of Lukaku, Mkhitaryan, Matic, Alexis, Lindeloff.
Fred who's disappeared, Pogba who's enormously overrated and overhyped. Only Bailley seems a bit decent.

466 million and it wasn't enough for him.

The man could've cured South-Africa of famine!
