Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I know it is sad to hear this but I believe he will leave if and when he can grab the Champions League for Spurs. I can also see he will walk if he can get 1-2 Premier League with Spurs. I think the reason he looks fresh and good is because he knows Spurs has the right players and that he can control the players to play with his style. I think also because Levy gave him lots of authority in shaping the players (was N'D last season and Dele this season) hence he was so glad to hear Rose said he will come and see Levy...lol...fking childish and amateur move.

I think with Spurs he will show pundits that he is not a dinosaur and what beautiful football is. Portugal national team would be his next move after Spurs.
I don't think any of us really expect him to be a long stay, but are hoping that he can carry on his level of successful management. Time will tell :)

Social Media has destroyed progressive discourse. It's fucked things up for a generation and despite many insiders knowing the issues it has created there's little they can do to stop it. Bleak city
The world is full of tweets, whatsapps, online posts and text messages etc. The art of true conversation is dying but what is completely lost is the intonation in a message. I guarantee you three people could read the same text and have three different views of its implication. Unless you actually hear the words spoken and see the facial expressions of someone you can be totally misled by how they meant their message to be conveyed.
Sign of the times but whilst technology is giving the opportunity for millions of people all over the world to communicate with each other it is not necessarily allowing the true meaning of their words to be understood correctly.
Somehow an emoji doesn't quite hack it.

Historically, I would associate Spurs with Fiorentina. Two top leagues trophies, some cups (more for Spurs ) and some European trophy (again, more for Spurs). But also a general history of beautiful football. Often oppressed by the stronger power of top teams
...plus I have always thought that Giancarlo Antognoni had some resemblance to Hoddle. He was another pretty good no 10, but not as good as Hoddle":

In the recent years, I would say Lazio or Roma or Napoli, yes

Inter have always had a strong financial power, and anyway in the last 10 years, after the Calciopoli scandal, there hasn't been any decent competition in Serie A (I think it's changing now). When Mou went to Interesting, they didn't have any rivals, so I am not too impressed by the domestic trophies with them. However, Inter have always had the reputation of bottlers and failing with winning trophies at the last hurdle. He has changed that massively.
On the other hand, I think that Mou's CL win with Inter is his highest achievement (probably along with Porto's)
I always had a soft spot for Fiorentina, simply because of their purple kit.
Back in the 90s, when Channel 4 used to show live Serie A games, I think I knew more about the Italian game than the domestic league. It was definitely the place to be for most of the top players at the time.

I have a soft spot for them too, because of the colours, the city and because Torino and Fiorentina supporters have a brotherhood relationship. I went once there for the weekend and for our game against them. We were wearing colours all the time and people were continuously stopping us on the street to chat with us, amazing

Yes, the 90s was a good decade for Italian football... a lot of talents, so many sides doing well in Europe. Even Torino managed to get to the UEFA final. Back then the final had two legs. We must have been the only side to lose a final without losing any game 😆 (2-2 at home and 0-0 away with Ajax)

I’ll never warm to him because when I see him, I see the success of Chelsea’s financial doping. He’s Chelsea just like George Graham is Woolwich. I just want him to win the trophies for us and go personally. You can’t blame any dye-in-the-wool Tottenham Hotspur fan for having this stance. There’s no love in this thing, it’s strictly an arranged marriage. We get to win, he gets to restore his reputation that’s been damaged.

I’ll cut his image out of the parade pictures and tell my Grandkids That Harry Kane was the player-manager.

I’m starting to think we will run Liverpool fucking close this season with Jose at the wheel.. It seems anyone can beat anyone. We will be hard to beat for just about every team in the league.

Just need to keep Kane and Son fit, with a bit of Bale thrown in we won’t lose many.

The pressing set up by Mou is really weird. It seems to be some sort of trap almost.
Press with the attackers, not with the mids and defenders.
A: Win it back and attack.
B: Have the opposition funneled into the middle. Let mids win it back and pass directly to the attackers who are high up the pitch after the "failed" press.

Something like that.
Might well be the way forward. Breathless continual pressing might have been found out recently. All it took were a few rusty performances and Aston Villa having a plan and Liverpool got demolished.

Southampton against us also showed how suicidal it is when the other team gets their counterattacking right.

Yeah I bet Forest fans have Clough pictures cut out of their league and European cup wins because of his Derby days. Jesus wept.

Chelsea have had multiple successful managers in the PL era and he has won at every club he has managed since Porto. The situation is noway comparable to Graham who’s playing and managerial career is defined by Woolwich. Chelsea are not even our derby rivals.

It says it all when we could win the league and yet some would choose to focus on him being an ex Chelsea manager. Some in our supporter base seriously need to grow up.

The worst part of this pandemic is the loss of meeting people face-to-face, we are mostly social animals, after all. Technology enables me to keep in touch but it's not the same as having a good ol' natter over a nice meal.
So easy to misinterpret social media and also for people to be poisonous without being held accountable.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is thinking that winning some major trophies with Spurs would be the biggest achievement of his career, so he may stay until it will happen
>He's done the Premier League with a blank cheque
>He's done historically the 'biggest' job in England at United
>He's done Italy
>He's done Spain/biggest club in the world with Real Madrid

He'll be Portuguese manager one day but not quite yet. That's basically a retirement job.

If he can awaken the sleeping giant of Tottenham Hotspur, doing it the right way no less, then I don't doubt he would rank that amongst the highest of his achievement. I do think we'll get top 4 as a minimum this year and I think he'll seriously try to win the CL as underdogs.

The only thing he could have on his bucket list to leave us for would be Bayern Munich, but for the reasons others have listed in this thread - we are a damn good fit for him.

they turned the lights off in the toilets so everyone had to try and wee in the black dark last time we played them
