Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Same bollocks got trotted out before he went United.

Can't believe we fell for it as well.
According to my Utd mate he even said the exact same things about loving their squad before spending obscene amounts to improve it.
Also I was told Jose did the same shit where he sets up negatively the whole game and then in the last 10 mins desperately chucks on all attackers to salvage/nick a win/draw.

What?

He still is the best, going off one game where he wasn't nearly as bad as you are trying to paint it doesn't change the fact that he is still the best.

Bergwijn would be better because they both would be terrible at the defensive aspects, but at least Bergwijn could offer some passing ability and help the move the ball through the midfield.

Both would be terrible options at DM but at least Bergwijn could do something while Sissoko is just a complete dud that offers nothing positive.
He was bad. Player rating even on this site puts him below Tanganga. Almost every source rated him poorly. Only people like you live in an alternate world (are you also a Trump fan?)

Like I said, that you think Bergwijn would be a better DM than Sissoko is the tell all.

Southampton are 11th
Brighton are 17th
Why exactly are you jealous exactly?

Surely you don't wanna watch us tippy tappy the ball about every week and get beat and finish bottom half/go down?

Wst Ham won't last. You know it. They know it.
Southampton
Brighton
And spam

don’t have Kane Son Ndombele or hojbjerg ffs

Have anything like our budget.... nor do they pay their manager 15m a year ! !

jealousy is doesn’t even come into the equation .... it’s about returns

Nah mate, didn't you get the memo, Jose doesn't set his teams up to defend he just always ends up with groups of players that take it upon themselves to do so

To those people who said during the Poch years that Jose would have won a cup if he was our manager with his winning mentality/tactical mastermind blah blah. For shame . For shame.
Actually wait your right maybe. With prime Dembele, Wanyama, Eriksen etc Jose probably would have got us a carabao cup... along with a midtable finish lmao.

Its really interesting when such an approach can get you 2nd in the PL. Wonder what the other teams in the PL were thinking.

Which trophy?

League cup? Hard pass.

FA Cup? Yes, it means a lot to the club and supporters.

Europa League? Absolutely.

Well the one we are in a final of.

I don't think we have any chance of the other two.

I don't think anyone would be disappointed with a 9th placed finish and a Europa League win though. We'd get CL final and a cup win.

I became concerned about Mourinho early last year in the two home games against Norwich ( league & FA Cup) and Southampton (FA Cup) In all three games we were happy to concede possession and to attempt to play on the break. We made fucking Norwich look like Barcelona and Todd Cantwell look like Lionel Messi.
The football when the league resumed was turgid but was sufficient to see us stumble into sixth place. This season we have stunk the place out in games against Everton, Burnley (won), West Brom (won), Leicester, Crystal Palace (draw) , Wolves (draw) and now Liverpool.
We are Tottenham ,in our ranks we boast Harry, Sonny ,a resurgent NDombele and a top class player in PEH.Surely we can do more than at present.
In fifty years I have witnessed all sorts of Tottenham teams, relegated in the 70s, a few trophies and a couple of exhilarating teams in the 80s, mostly dire in the 90s (bookended by 2 trophies) and this century has seen a slow and steady climb, culminating in the sensational Poch team of 2016/7 and our glorious run to the CL final in 2019.I have loved every moment of the journey but the last 14 months under Mou have been very difficult to stomach and I am not optimistic that it will become any more successful or watchable.I hope I am proved wrong, starting at Brighton on Sunday! COYS!!!

Then again, maybe we SHOULD be a bit lenient with Jose.

After all, he's never managed a club that wasn't either

A) The richest in its domestic league
B) The biggest club in it's domestic league

We're neither.

So many times we've seen that argument of "Could cheque book managers win things elsewhere?" - and whilst we're not Burnley, it's interesting that we now have a cheque book manager in charge who doesn't have an unlimited budget or a squad that's full of world class talent through years of success/spending.

Go on Jose. Win us a trophy!

Shoe string budget and a squad that includes Kane, Dembele, Eriksen, Jan etc.

Still it's impressive given same guy wasted a lot of shoe strings on Sissoko but never won a single silverware
As if Jose has never inherited good players lol.

If you can't get Mane or Wijnaldum cos you're priced out then Sissoko is better than nothing. Your guy Jose would agree since he loves to use him.

General happiness and mental well-being aside I'm loving it.

These chequebook managers do get that question put to them but there's also many who think they are just exceptionally skilled managers who have managed top teams because of their talent and that they could do it with lesser teams but haven't had the chance/would rather go for CLs and titles right away.

Notabadsquad was a huge offender (sorry to dig you out buddy) of constantly going on about how we needed a ruthless winner like Jose. Like that was the final part of the puzzle as opposed to arming our at the time exceptional manager with better players instead of imposing austerity on him.

Priced out? Are you living in an alternate reality?

We paid £30m to Newcastle for Sissoko in the same summer that Wijnaldum (from same Newcastle) went to liverpool for £25m, Gundogan to City for £20m and PEH to Southampton for £12.5m.

You are really stepping out of reality to try and rewrite history for Poch

Think you're trying to rewrite history fella

Wijnaldum, 27, has established himself as one of Jurgen Klopp’s most reliable performers since his arrival on Merseyside and claims that, despite talks, former club Newcastle could not come to a suitable agreement with Spurs for his transfer.

“I had a really good conversation with Pochettino. But we didn’t come to an agreement. Not just me – Newcastle also didn't come to an agreement with Tottenham,” Wijnaldum said in an interview with the PFA.

We beat City in the League Cup final and he (Mourinho) will have eclipsed Poch.
