First penalty was just clumsy from him (Though totally avoidable if Trippier gets rid of the ball). I don't think the second was a penalty at all. Very very harsh and I'd have been amazed if the roles were reversed, Dean would have given it to us.

Besides that? He had a solid Premier League debut away at a decent team who will cause a lot more teams problems (Remember this is a team that drew with City and United). I can't wait to see more of him.

Look who's popped in here to nick the jam out of your doughnuts.

Seen some people say he isn't all that physically. But I've never one seen him bullied. He's played against the likes of Andy Carroll, who is a ridiculously tough footballer to play against and someone who has bullied our senior defenders in the past, and looked every bit as strong. He's played against lower league opposition who probably would have been told to rough him up and came through with flying colours.

I think people saw Antonio getting passed him as a sign of Foyth not being physically ready. But watch it back, it was a blatant foul by Antonio and it was a ridiculous decision not to award a free kick.

He's our secret weapon defensively and he's going to save us a fucking fortune.

Juan Foyth has finally made his mark at Tottenham Hotspur but it took some time after arriving from Estudiantes in 2017.

The young defender, who turns 21 this month, saw little in the way of playing time in his first season at the club as he adapted to English football, playing a handful of cup matches.

He also found himself left out of Spurs' Champions League squad for the knockout stages that season and the group stages this one due to Tottenham's issues with having too many 'non-locally trained' players.

There was talk of a loan deal to Championship side Leeds United, but injuries to Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier handed Foyth his chance and Foyth has racked up the Premier League appearances, including scoring the winner at Crystal Palace.

He is set to start in defence for Tottenham's FA Cup third round clash at League Two side Tranmere Rovers on Friday and he has looked back to those early days at the club in August 2017, when he turned down a move to PSG to sign for the north London outfit.

"It's been a really good first 16 months for me. I'm really happy to be here. The staff and my team-mates are good people so I've been enjoying every day, every moment I have here," he said in an interview in Spurs' match day programme.

"I'm here because this is a big club. We have a lot of strong players and the staff have great plans for every players - that was a big factor in why I signed for Spurs.

"When I arrived I was very nervous because one day I was playing FIFA at home and the next I was training with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, so it was a big change for me.

"My new team-mates have had a big impact though and they helped me a lot. I might have been nervous initially, but they received me well which gave me a lot of confidence and meant I could enjoy my time."

He added: "My family also helped me a lot ni the move. My dad, for example, is still living with me here so he had helped me massively. The rest of my family comes across to England to see me quite often so that's really great as well.

"So moving here was a great moment for me. Playing in the Premier League was always my dream so to get the chance to come here was great."

Foyth made his debut for the club last season against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup last season and he feels he has come a long way since then.

"I think I was a different player at that time to what I am now," he said. "I wasn't really fully prepared to play in the Premier League back then but after training extensively with players like Davinson, Jan and Toby [Alderweireld] and against such quality forward players that we have here, I think I have learned a lot in that time."

Foyth is now a full Argentina international and after overcoming a frustrating injury in pre-season the defender's season has seen him make big strides.
"The last few months have been incredible for me," he admitted. "I've really enjoyed it recently, but I can't stop. I have to keep working and keep improving every day.

"I think I have improved a lot in the time I have been here. It was a good decision I feel, to come here. I've got a great bond with my team-mates and I'm enjoying every moment here."

Juan Foyth explains why he was so nervous when he first arrived at Spurs

Facts.

People see pundits bashing a young and promising footballer and clamour to it, so they must be right - I remember when we started Foyth against Chelsea where he pocketed Hazard for 90 minutes and ALL the pundits spoke about regarding Foyth were the two penalties he conceded against Wolves.

I'm happy with both of them. Foyth is one of the best players we have with the ball at his feet and Sanchez has the potential to be very very good with the right coaching, still think Sanchez is poor in the air as well as using his strength correctly. I don't think chopping and changing them helps them however.

Gareth Bale didn't win any of his first 25 games in a Spurs shirt, Thierry Henry scored one goal in Arsenals opening 15 league games his debut season, Luka Modric was voted worse La Liga signing his first season in Spain, De Bruyne & Salah couldn't cut it at Chelsea and had to move abroad before finding their groove and how long did it take Harry to shake that one season wonder tag?

Got to give talent time to grow. People demand far too much these days, they want it all ready to eat and on a plate for them.

Foyth has a huge ceiling, it's time people appreciate that he's still a kid, his body still hasn't stopped growing yet potentially and he needs to be left alone now. It's his first real season playing a part in first team responsibilities and so far I think he's shown huge promise and potential. So far so good

Mou seems to be impressed with Foyth after Bayern though. I expect to see him more in the future. If he's not replacing Sanchez, he can be replace Aurier. He's a better defender than Aurier.
And he was really good before he got injured. I remember him shutting down Sterling last year as RB.

For me Foyth has a wonderful future as a CB. Talent like his should be central but ultimately I trust he will end up where he is supposed to. You can't let a talent like his go to waste and Jose has seen enough class down the years to know a good one from a bad one. He's 21, I fully expect him to go onto become a genuine star in the game. Oozes all the skills you crave in a footballer he just needs to become a little more streetwise that's all.

If we treated all our CBs equally and froze them out like we froze out Foyth after his mistakes then we would have no playing CBs left as they've all fucked up pretty badly at a number of times this season and last.

The lad is very young and has basically been given games in batches of 1s and 2s to try and break in, which for 90% of the time he has looked very promising. It's just the errors that people remember mind you, so obviously he is good for nothing.

Whatever happens with this player will happen, but I can't help but think he has been misused by the club and if we sell him it would be a mistake.
