Ex-Spurs Player Kyle Walker-Peters

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I am a big fan of promoting the yoot.
KWP was not and is not good enough for THFC.
He is at the right club where if he makes a balls up nobody notices.

He wasn't very good when he was with us but like most players, he's improved. He's head and shoulders better than both Doherty and Emerson.

I was sad to see him go, because I thought he had promise and never really got a proper chance to show if he could develop into a good fullback. Also, all he ever wanted to do was play for us and I believe he couldn't be any worse than the players that followed. Another deal that leaves a lot to be desired - is his worth really £20m+ worse than PEH?

Good luck to him.

Would be our first choice RWB now.

Whether people want to label him as not good enough for Spurs or whatever, it makes me want to bang my head on the table in front of me to think that immediately following his MotM full PL debut against Newcastle we went out and spaffed £23m on Aurier, not seeing KWP again until his next MotM performance against Bournemouth.

To then just let him go as a makeweight in order to save some money on Hojbjerge, whilst we continued to burn money on the likes of Doherty and Emerson, Jesus f'in Christ.

He definitely would have been a better bet than those 3, and cost roughly £60m less...

Agree.

I would add that for whatever reasons he did look kinda out of place, always looked like he's won a raffle ticket to play for Spurs. I saw many games of his whilst at the academy and he was regularly one of the standout performers. Just looked so timid when in the first team (this is just perception, so cloud have been totally different in reality, I know he was best mates with Dele who was a big character in the dressing room).

Far better player than both Doherty and Emerson. I'd take both him and Livramento from Southampton actually.
Maybe the two years of regular playing has catapulted him up a notch or two, he has always been decent and perhaps this time we wasn't patient enough.

Sadly, I think he can/should be filed under 'One that got away'.

He was good for us, I still remember the Bournemouth assist hattrick. His problem always that he lacked self-confidence. He looked like a little boy out there, like he was feeling some extreme imposter syndrome. TBF to him playing for Spurs under Poch is different proposition than the current Southampton.

He's more of a tiki-taka player, which is what Southampton do. He also looks more assertive now.
