Yeah like Wigan should be in the Prem permanently same with Portsmouth. They are much smaller clubs and have won a bigger trophy than Spurs under Levy. Rather than discounting them they reinforce the failure of ENIC story way more than the money clubs haul
Winning trophies, it's kinda the cherry on top of the cake situation. Portsmouth deserved getting relegated after they won the FA Cup because they effectively went bust doing it. That's nothing to be proud of. Wigan, like the conversation arose yesterday did it for a while and were relatively successful for a short period of time yet their owner Dave Whelan run out of money (I think anyway, not really an expert on their history).

It's like the Derby County situation under Mel Morris. Why should the club be penalised because an owner can't afford to keep pumping their own money in. ENIC's model is very good compared to others. Genuine question, How would you feel if ENIC run the club you support into the ground?

Ha..have you not seen some of the personal attacks aimed at me from the staunch ENIC supporters. Not just in this thread, but since I joined the fucking forum a decade ago
Been called a C..., Gooner F....., And a few worse. I try not to Swear at Anyone (If I have, I apologise). So I know how you feel John Thomas John Thomas .

Most was when I said we wasted 21 million plus Lamela (Who Is much rather in our squad right now), on a blind shot 'Gil.'

Who really wanted Lenglett, Spence, Richarlison and Emerson. That's 100 million of the money they say was given to Conté for transfers.

Jose got even less for what he wanted.

Most Transfers are made by Levy, not Sanctioned by him. He tries to Penny Pinch with every player he makes an offer for. If anyone thinks Spurs will improve Greatly, You need to change what you smoking. You not just getting a High, You are Hallucinating. What you is not real is will be gone in the morning

Most people are more angry at how shit we've been run on the football side of the club for years now, not because they want billions spent .. don't know why people keep misrepresenting the position. Yes people are annoyed at Levy for not spending at opportune moments, but mainly the lack of vision or a cohesive plan is what stings.

Woolwich are right now showing you don't need to be an oil club to compete. Newcastle spent what, 200 million to be sat in third and looking better than us?

Liverpool, with a wage bill that is a decent bit higher than us but overall lower net spend recently, won a CL, PL, league cup and FA Cup. Leicester with spending we dwarf have won an FA cup + league title. If these teams can achieve this, then we can achieve more than one league cup in 20 years. The blaming the oil clubs game needs to stop, its made it harder to win trophies but far from impossible as a top 6 team.
Great post.
I just think the proof is Enic are great at the non football side but, they have no idea how to run the football side. After 22 years it's just embarrassing

Would be the ultimate Spursy to have our European Super league berth pinched by Newcastle and then it go ahead without us.

I don't think Newcastle would be viewed as a glamorous addition to any future Super League, to be honest.

Would be like having a line up like this

Then adding something like this

The last ten year of Prem football, Spurs have the 4th most Prem points (slightly edging Liverpool and Woolwich).

This off managing a bottom line unlike the rest of the Prem clubs w/ no budget (United / City / Chelsea)

So basically, via an even playing field, they've the best Prem club over the last decade.

Obviously the trophy haul is embarrassing, but arguing that their management of Tottenham is "embarrassing" is completely wrong for me. In the end, they've punched above their weight more times then not.

The takeaway via this thread is ultimately that most spurs supporters want an oil ridden sovereign to take over, which isnt' for me.

Maybe embarrassing is the wrong word. They do however seem to lack any kind of vision, they lucked put with Poch and after the bore fest of Mourinho ball, the embarrassing long search for a manager to then hire Nuno who didnt have a clue. Levy is reactive and he tends to panic, one minute hes banging on about Tottenhams DNA the next hes hiring a borefest coach like nuno. After 22 years you would have thought they would have done idea of how to run a football club.

Well i think the point is, the top top managers are far and few between really. And, in the end like most players, they are going to choose the money and best situation. So Spurs will always be a second option so its challenging from the get go. And lets be honest, even the top Prem clubs like United and Chelsea have seen a ton of turnover at the manager spot. Even LFC before Klopp.

Again, Top4 Prem points over the last decade. Punching above our weight financially. How does that equate to Levy and ENIC having no idea on running a football club ? They are actually doing a very good job considering the financial resources for the club.

83% want ENIC out ? Careful what you wish for really. And if you want an oil sovereign to come to the rescue, you've sadly lost the plot really.

I really don't get the stigma about oil. No company with the money to buy Tottenham for £3-4 billion is going to be morally good.

Samsung and Apple source their phone batteries from lithium mines using child labour, but you wouldn't complain if they bought us. The only person in the world who could buy Tottenham and claim to be somewhat moral is probably Bill Gates.

Clubs either get bought by oil barons who want a new toy, investment companies that want to turn a profit or sport moguls who want global collaboration between their brands. All of these groups would happily join a European Super League, betray our history and sell local fans down the drain without a second thought - which they tried to do in 2021, including Levy.

Bad people exist whether they invest in Tottenham or not. If I had the choice of being a successful club under a rich, evil bastard or an unsuccessful club under a rich, evil bastard then I'm choosing success - whether that money comes from oil (Dubai), quasi-slave run warehouses (Amazon) or knowing how hairy my arse crack is so they can market to me (Google), I really don't care.

Anyone who still thinks this poll and the Twitter movement is not representative of the fans feelings only need to look at last night. From minute 1 to minute 90 the away fans chanted for Levy out and sang in support of Conte, even when we went 3 or 4 goals up.

Took Newcastle about 10 years to get rid of Mike Ashley. Glazers still at United.

Could be an interesting time going to Spurs matches. Bit of spurs on spurs aggro maybe?

Pick your side and don’t back down!!

Not what I heard. Yes there where bouts of "Levy out" but they where more often than not drowned out by more positive tottenham chants. That doesn't mean that they all pro enic. But most fans I belive value solidarity over intercine warfare on the ownership of the club.

The chants happened all game and were followed up by positive tottenham chants. The away support yesterday was top.

We're easier to watch due to being on TV more and have less risk of going in to administration due to the money around the top division.

That's essentially it. You going on about how 90% of the football pyramid would have something to say about our privilege is wrong, a lot of fans of lower league/'lesser' teams think we're mugs for how much it costs to support Spurs, and STILL mock the hell out of us for winning nothing! I've taken banter off Swansea fans ffs!!

There's pro's and con's. We're privileged compared to someone who supported Bury because our club exists still but we're not very privileged compared to a Brighton or Brentford supporter lately.
There’s a lot more privilege than that.

The great financial inequalities between the Premier league and the rest of the football league mean that there is a barrier to entry for clubs in the championship from sustainably entering the premier league. That reduced competition is to the benefit of confortable PL teams and to the detriment of everyone else.

Aside from sporting inequality, there is also an effect on financial stability. Clubs outside the premier league are particularly prone to falling into administration. Former PL clubs like Blackburn, Wigan, Bolton and Blackpool have hit hard times. More than 25% of clubs in the championship, league 1 and league 2 have faced bankruptcy or winding up petitions in recent years.

If we’re talking privilege then getting to see our team play in europe every season, mostly the champions league, is a privilege too… on a sporting and financial level.

Finally it’s not just vis a vis the football league that we are privileged. In the decade before our champions league final appearance, the top 6 increased their revenue by a quarter of a billion. The rest of the premier league barely saw any growth at all.

The reality is, that if you step away from banter on social media, we are incredibly privileged compared to most clubs. This is because of the effects of football politics and economics on outcomes. We are part of the winners in football and that was not destiny. It is because of good leadership and a lot of luck.

Were you there mate?

That's not the representation of those that I know who were there last night.

BTW if you think it's ok to wish death upon the chairman or booing a young player coming on for us then seriously you need to check yourself into an anger management clinic - fans doing this were a fucking embarrassment to our club.

That's not how I heard it. I heard Levy out songs which then switched into positive Tottenham songs almost as if to make a point that the fans supported Conte, the players and the club and their ire was directed solely at Levy/ENIC.

I didn't hear anything being drowned out.

Few of my mates went down there yeah and I could hear on my stream the chants throughout the game. I made no mention on wishing death on the chairman…. “We want levy out” and “daniel levy get out of our club” were sang all match and I see nothing wrong with that.
