The quoted post had nothing to do with what had been done in the past. Whether we should have started the rebuild sooner is neither here nor there, we didn't. Now that we have, we weren't going to bring in 10+ players in 1 window to fit the tactics of a manager who'd never set foot in England or coached above the Scottish level.

We brought in 7 new players, and spend €250M (€130M net). Tons of work left to do, obviously, but it's a decent start.

I thought you had but reading that post made me think otherwise. Makes sense now! So it’s more of a case of this is where we are now due to neglect but we can’t go back & change it. So this is the best way forward!
I would have preferred another CB in over say Johnson as I think it was mad to only have 2 suitable CBs. But that’s up to them I guess. Same with only 1 real creative midfielder.
Well in hindsight you were right about son & kane. One went for way less in the end anyway & the other is still good but past his peak. & you were going against the grain.

TBF, Mourinho and Conte aside, it's not like those 3 have been successful elsewhere. Harry bankrupted a club for a single FA Cup - which is the most impressive accomplishment between the 3 of them.

Some people love to go on things/threads they know they will get annoyed at, so they can have a good old moan. Then without any irony, moan non stop about people moaning. I am sure they yell at people to “stop yelling” as well. Put on country & western songs on Spotify because they hate country & westerns songs! Arghhhhhh :angryscouser:

The amount of stuff they make up to use against people who want levy out is ridiculous. I guess when you have run out of any logical defence.
As you say results not mattering & just playing good football is levys dream. Suddenly they have turned it in to what the levy haters want.

I agree on us needing another CB. I don't know if we stopped pursuing Tapsoba or he was no longer interested after we signed Micky, but I said in the summer I didn't think it should be either/or but both.

Opportunity lost that Ashley Phillips' injury coincided with Romero's suspension and Micky's injury.

We definitely need to sign one in the summer. If someone good is available in January, then do it then - but I'm hesitant to rush out and buy 2nd rate players just to fill a gap if that ends up preventing us from signing a better option come summer.

Said before the season, our focus from June of 2023 on needed to be on making this squad as good as it can be in August 2024.

Start of November we had a better squad than woolwich. The team who came 2nd last season and are currently top.
Less than a month later we are at joke levels of squad and levy has fucked us.

We were guaranteed CL football after 9 games.
Now we could easily be 9th or lower by the end of January. After 13 games.

Not my takes by the way. Just stuff I see on here.
And everyone is welcome to their opinion. It’s what make forums interesting. But there is a very wide range of expectations after just 13 League games.

Yeah It does baffle me how quick people start thinking we will win the title. Despite Going from 8th, losing kane , new manager & a thin squad. Under owners who find a FA cup too much for them. It just took a few very good months & it was title talk. & even before the West Ham match some were still saying we can win the title. I am not hating on them! Good for them being optimistic but I don’t get how they keep it up. I’d feel like I was being fake, “this year it’s our year, levy/enic scream champions of England “. Then we fail. Then you do it all again next year.
I have stuck with top 5 & that last CL place being a success for ang this season. I think that’s more realistic & fair on the guy with these limited tools at his disposal.
