I'm sure Poch, Kane, Son and all the players love their champions league loser medals.
Not sure what point you're making, my point was that the only particularly unusual thing about ENICs tenure is how successful we have been in the league. Several recent managers have not treated the FA cup with enough respect, but if we ignore the FA cup this has been an very successful period in our history

The point I'm making is that only winning counts, all these loser medals represent missed chances. We've won one trophy in 20 years, the same as Swansea. There is no medal for coming 2,3,4 in the league.
What a shame the Poch era will never be known as the greatest in our history.

If we ignore the FA Cup, as several recent managers have done.

1882-2001
League 1 Winner 50/51
League 1 Winner 60/61
Cup Winners Cup 62/63
League Cup 70/71
UEFA Cup 71/72
League Cup 72/73
UEFA Cup 83/84
League Cup 98/99
119 years and 8 trophies (one every 15 years)

2001-2020
League Cup 07/08
19 years 1 trophy

Add in the FA Cups and it looks a lot worse, but consistency in the league and Champions League campaigns are what we've had instead.

If those 5 finals we lost or that 2nd placed league finish had gone the other way, things would look very different

Ignoring the FA cup to suit your narrative. It's not been ignored by Chelsea, Woolwich, Man U, Man City, Liverpool, they've all won it during the ENIC. The FA cup plays a large part in our history but even if I go with your narrative surely ENIC should be bringing in more trophies then previous regimes with their resources.

The resources they have made.

Another way to look at it which suits my narrative and also make sense is to look at the 16 seasons before they took over and the 18 complete ones since.

16 seasons prior ENIC takeover (85-01)
Honours -1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup
Average League position - 10th
European campaigns - 2

18 complete seasons after takeover (01-19)
Honours - 1 League Cup
Average League Position - 6th
European Campaigns - 12

So conclusion is, we should all be happy with one league cup during ENICs time here?

No, we should be happy with the consistency in the league, and disappointed at not getting over the line in 5 cup finals. But we should be delighted that Levy has given us world class infrastructure that ensures the future is bright

Does Levy douche his arse before you lick it? Or does he treat his arse like this football club? Nice on the outside, shit on the inside?

We should be happy at consistently failing to win silverware but at least we can celebrate that failure in a shiny stadium built to make our rich owners even richer!

So if we finish 8th this season and consistently do so for another 5 years we should be happy with that?
