Hmm....

Ange when asked about spending 100m on teenagers said this....

"It is still the right decision and I own them transfers because I believe they are the right decisions for this club. I make these decisions with the background that I’m going to be here for a while to see this through.

To be honest, if I was worried about my own existence I would have fought tooth and nail to block Harry Kane leaving but it wasn’t the right decision for the club because he was in the last year of his contract.

That is not what drives me. The decisions we made around signing young players are the right decisions for this club for where we are at right now and they will bear fruit. Yeah we have lost experience but we needed to do that. We needed to do that because it was a team that was coming towards the end of its cycle and we were rebuilding not just the squad but the playing style and you couldn’t replace experience with experience because that is not a rebuild.”
To be fair to Ange, this was his first really big move (sorry Celtic) and he was always going to toe the line.

He was never going to have the ability to call the shots on transfers.

I can imagine Levy is terrified of people waving around bits of A4 paper

I've come to the realisation that who our manager is, as well as the collective assortment of players we have are by and large irrelevant. As is who owns the club. ENIC in, ENIC out. As pointless as cleaning the fine china on the titanic as it sinks.

This is who we are as a club. A team that finishes 4th to 8th and occasionally plays a cup final.
For us to be champions, whether that be of England, or a cup competition we in all likelihood need to be better than ALL of Woolwich, Chelsea, United, City* and Liverpool. And for 9 months at a time.

But those clubs are bigger, wealthier, and dripping in more prestige and history than us, all of which contribute to recruiting better players, having deeper squads, better managers, and winning cultures. This won't change anytime soon.

We have spent a fuck-tonne of money on the squad since moving into the new ground, often with a DoF finding players (Hitchen, Paratici, Lange) that the manager desires. Not many are "Levy purchases". And yet the progressive Pochettino that made us better than the sum of our parts failed. Serial winners Conte and Mourinho failed. Now Ange and his history of exciting and daring football is also failing.

Watching Spurs having removed the expectation of success and table progression has certainly made watching us much easier. Albeit the football under Ange these past few weeks has been less than acceptable. I now watch us just to hopefully see some entertaining football.

Agree with this. The only way you get real pressure is him getting dogs abuse game in game out. It worked against Sugar. Only time Levy has looked rattled was that Brentford home defeat under Mason when he got plenty. Not particulaly pleasant but what other choice is there at this point?

It also weakens any bargaining position when it comes to selling a club if it becomes clear that there is a toxic environment.

Yeah. Your patronising nonsense that some can't wait for us to lose.
Every one posting on this forum since last night is horrified and hurting at last night's performance and THAT is the reason we're in this thread venting our anger at those we hold as ultimately responsible.

Some literally can't though - as is seen in match threads countless times. People literally cannot wait for us to lose before shitting over everything.

When I used to live in London (which was up til last year) they said they were doing these protests pretty much before every game. I used to arrive at the stadium generally one hour before kick off, that should be prime protest time, given how many fans are kicking around then. Every time without fail by that time the protesters had already packed up to either get in the stadium to buy a pint or fucked off home.

They were fucking pointless.

I can never understand the thought process of doing this outside the ground. Do it inside, get the chants going and the TV cameras and news will be all over it.

Doing it outside made some sense I suppose, a chance for it to snowball in numbers or get some media attention. But it was just 4 or 5 old guys standing around a banner talking to each other whenever I actually did see them. They didnt even try and engage anyone to encourage them to join in. It was just... Pointless.

I suppose they’re all scattered around the ground which makes it difficult to coordinate.
That's definitely an issue. One that also contributes to the general shit atmosphere that prevails most match days.
Plus the large percentage of tourist / casual fans that have largely replaced the more passionate, die hard fans who've become disillusioned with the whole charade.
