Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

From his point of view - he should have wait couple more weeks with taking the job. Couple more stinkers and maybe some desperate Bald guy from North London would bend the knee and call Poch

Yeah because it was incredibly easy to see that Ndombele will prove to be a shit transfer, crazy how Pochettino didn’t see it…
This doesn't make any sense, its the job of the people in charge of recruitment to identify players who will be successful for the club. It's their job to separate the wheat from the chaff. If they're lauded for finding a Vertonghen or Dembele, they deserve the stick for wasting money on a Ndombele or a Soldado.

Pochettino threw his toys out the pram and had his agent invent some Madrid rumours so that he could get the manager title and stake control over player recruitment. Then he shit the bed and spent a club record transfer fee on a player who basically refused to play football at the PL professional level.

He will do well for the USA and wish him well. One of my favourite all time managers alongside burkinshaw and venables. Was hung out to dry by levy. One day I hope he returns.

I still think it a mistake not to get him back in last summer. I mean, really, would we be in any worse position now? I doubt it. But it was the perfect chance to bring him back and we didnt so I doubt it will happen under these owners, so probably never.

Yes it does make sense, because sometimes you can have all the positive data about a player and it can still go wrong.

What we knew about Ndombele was that he was lazy early in his career, but his Lyon form was solid proof that maybe he was just an immature kid back then and now he’s grown into a professional.

Also some players can be guided on the right track by certain "father" figures if you like, from within the club (like the manager, Pochettino had a reputation for it), even if the data about a player is not all great. And some clubs may still risk it for the potential growth of a player.

You don’t know what people within the club discussed about Ndombele before we bought him, so now that it’s been 5 years since he was bought and he turned out to be shit, you can pretend all you like and put the blame on whoever you want.

So Poch-God wastes a club record fee on probably the worst player we ever signed and it's ok because "the data said he wasn't lazy anymore".

But Levy+Co. sign Johnson, who has already contributed vastly more than Ndombele ever did, for less money and less wages, and it's proof that they don't know shit and sign crap players?

:avbcringe:

Some of you have a deity complex with Poch.

Ndombele profile wise was an incredible footballer and what we needed. So Poch, a football manager, saw that and wanted him. That’s fair. It made sense. On the eye test he was a wonderful watch.

The other stuff, personal issues etc are up to the back room staff to look at and flag up if there’s a real issue. Pochettino isn’t going to be the one trawling through his past and identifying if he might secretly be a lazy cunt.
