Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That won't stop the hot-takey morons spouting their moronic nonsense. No matter what you tell them they'll just repeat the same nonsense a couple months later. It's like they get paid to be stupid...ain't that right MemphisWill MemphisWill ?

...perhaps because DL always had final say...being made manager only allowed him a spot on the xfer committe, 1 in 5 voices followed by DL ultimately deciding what could be done finanacially (read: picking who he wanted to begin with)...which you've been shown/told a thousand times.

And as if we didn't sign shit footballers beforehand. In fact, every single one that 'came good' during Poch's years was seen as shit by a conservative 40% of the supporters at the time Poch got here...maybe even more!

What actually does one get by repeating this nonsense instead of the truth? Low fucking character, man!

The only thing any of us know for sure is Poch was given the manager title and we started signing a lot of utterly shit players who cost us a ton of money.

Everything else is speculation from you, I, or anyone else as none of us are privy to the inner workings of THFC.

Just checked to see if this would make me interested in anything happening within CONCACAF... nope, still nothing.

Again, more stupid...so we only started signing shit after this? No other shitty xfers to Spurs prior to Poch then? FFS!

The xfers for summer 2016 were: Big Vic (14M Euro), Jannsen (22M, because DL wouldn't get the Belgian kid from Marseille-->Chelsea and then AZ held us to ransom as we were out of alts), Sissoko (DL's screwup costing bigger money), GKN (less said the better), Pau Lopez (loan). Feel free to get all epistemological if that's what gets you off.

We know it because DL has said it on multiple occasions that the manager is 1 in 5 voices (mgr, DL, youth coach, 2 others I can't remember) on the xfer committee...players are ranked and then DL takes that ranking and tries to fit it in the money numbers. This has been reported AND he says it in one of the documentaries. And he repeated after every coaching change since Poch. However, apparently, according to Ange, things have changed in his instance...info I've just learned from Klaus Klaus , words directly from Ange's mouth.

But you know this and have had articles posted becuase you keep repeating the same nonsense.

This is from the summer of Ndom and GLC...

Mauricio Pochettino has said that he has absolutely no influence on Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer business and believes that his off-field role is now so limited that the club may as well change his job title back from manager to head coach.

When Pochettino extended his contract in 2016, his role was amended from head coach to manager, which the Argentinian explained at the time better reflected the fact that he was “involved in all aspects of the club”.

However, after a 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Audi Cup, against a backdrop of uncertainty over players such as Danny Rose, Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld, the 47-year-old said that his brief was purely a coaching one.

“I’m not in charge, I know nothing about the situation of my players, I am only coaching them, trying to get the best from them,” he said. “The type of things, that are going to happen or not happen, sell or buy players, extend contract or not extend contract: it’s not in my hands, it’s in the club’s hands and in Daniel Levy’s hands.

“Maybe the club need to change my title description now, because my job now is to coach the team. Maybe they are going to change my title description. Like I told you before, I am not in charge about the individual situations. I am the boss designing the strategy to train, to play; the methodology; the philosophy in my area. But in another area . . . today, I think I am the coach.”

Asked if that had changed recently, and if so why, Pochettino said: “That is a question I cannot answer. I am only the person that is on the touchline managing the team.

“It’s difficult to talk like this, but it’s not in my hands. It’s important for the players to know, it’s important for the people to know. Like I told you before, I’m going to be happy with the squad that the club is going to provide to me — and of course, trying to give our best, trying to get the best results. My mood is always the same.”

Despite signing a new five-year contract in May last year, Pochettino’s future at Tottenham was a topic shrouded in some uncertainty last season, when he was linked with the managerial roles at Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Even after those positions had been filled, Pochettino continued to flirt publicly with the idea of ending his tenure, saying that if his team won the Champions League, he could “close the five-year chapter and go home”. Tottenham subsequently lost in the final to Liverpool. Alderweireld, Eriksen and Rose all played 45 minutes against Real in Munich, the latter featuring in pre-season for the first time since having been left out of the tour matches in Shanghai and Singapore to be given time to arrange a move.

Meanwhile, the Real coach Zinédine Zidane refused to be drawn on the situation of Gareth Bale. Last week the Welshman appeared to be on the way out of the Bernabéu, with Zidane saying that the forward was “very close to leaving” and a transfer “would be best for everyone”. But with Bale on the brink of concluding a move to the Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, Real pulled the plug on the deal, leaving the 30-year-old reportedly “too distressed” to join up with the squad for the Tottenham game.

However, Zidane sidestepped the issue, saying Bale was unwell and had missed the game on medical advice. “He didn’t travel with us because he didn’t feel that well,” he said. “The doctors said the best thing is for him to stay in Madrid. He’s training individually in Madrid. That was a decision that we made, the club, myself and Gareth Bale too.” He ignored a question about whether Bale had any future at Real.

Real, the three-times European champions during Zidane’s first managerial spell at the club, have had a dismal pre-season, including defeats against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, but the Frenchman said that he was unconcerned by his squad’s poor form.

“I always think positively, I will never lose that. We will see what we can achieve this season,” Zidane said. “What can I tell the fans? Just give me a chance to prove them wrong. We’re not ready yet, we do have some problems with injuries, but we have to look to the future.”

The loss to Spurs was a low-key, disjointed affair, with Harry Kane scoring the only goal of the game in the 22nd minute after a defensive error by Marcelo. That mistake was caused by a misplaced pass by Eden Hazard, who appeared to have put on weight since his last competitive game for Chelsea in the Europa League final.

I bet you'll find a way to spout BS to avoid feeling as big a knob as you should right now...

Name 1 good player who was signed after Poch was given the manager title.

Son ?
Toby?

Being serious, I don't remember if they signed before or after Poch came to Spurs.
After, Tripper as well. Davies and Dier might not have been spectacular signings but have proved worthwhile. Wanyama was superb until his injury. Llorente did a job, if limited.

Yes we signed some shit players in the latter years but what if he had got what he wanted in Wijnaldum, Mane, Zaha, De Jong, Grealish, maybe it wouldnt have come to that. Really it boils down to 4 shit signings, Jannsen, Sanchez, Ndombele and Lo Celso. Sess may have been ok but arrived injured and never truly recovered his confidence and he never really got more than 8 or 9 games with Lo Celso so we have no idea how that would have played out.

Poch had his faults like all managers but he produced the best Tottenham team i've seen since the mid 80s. We should have won sonething but it was still an enjoyable few years, a hell of a lot better than what we've seen since. I find this need to rubbish him very strange indeed.

The question didn't pertain to when Poch joined; but when he was promoted from head coach to manager and gained even greater influence upon our signings (so much so that he requested that Paul Mitchel not be replaced when he left in Nov 2017)...... That would have been summer 2017.

All those mentioned (apart from Llorente) were already here by then.

Aurier
Moura
Sanchez
Llorente
Foyth
Gazzaniga
Ndombele
LoCelso
Sessengon
Clarke (who Poch immediately disassociated himself from)

The scum one was fucking funny with Arteta and his stupid drawings etc. ours Mourinho was the star of the show. It was basically a vehicle for him. Overall I think we came off badly in it. I havent watched it again since and that probably speaks volumes.

I think they're a hiding to nothing..... Unless you end the season with achievement in line with the pre-season optimism you look like mugs.......

Tbh; considering we sacked our manager mid-series (maybe a first in that respect?), I think we got off lightly.

The biggest memes being:

- Levy's school tales to Ndombele.
- Hitchen "I hate January"
- Rose "Have you heard from Milan yet?"
- Dele "I can cook beans"

Not overlooked , just some way down the list of bad decisions. Well to be precise some way down my list of bad Levy decisions. All opinion whichever side of the argument you are on at the end of the day
Would imagine Daniel just saw the possibility that it would spread the name further afield, and that was a major factor, along with the £10m in him signing up for it.
