"We need to be careful how we manage January," he said. "It is not a window where you can do many things and not affect the dynamic of the team and the group.

"If you are doing well and you arrive in January, no one is going to change too much."

So where does he say he doesn't want to sign anyone in January?

Smashed it out the park mate.
What exactly did he smash out the park? Quit cock gobbling ffs.

I don't really get how poch's new quotes counter my belief that he was unhappy with the lack of signings? I don't get what I'm supposed to say about the new quotes as it proves fuck all.

Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham players sign for the club, not him
The FIFA generation are going to lose their minds

Forgive me if I've miss read or I'm being naive but I can't see where he confirms we won't make any signings in January.

All I could see was the standard rhetoric of how January can be a difficult time to make meaningful signing both in their availability and in relation to how New faces can cause a minor disturbance and isn't the answer should we be in good form with people back for which I happen to agree with.

That being said I believe we need at least 1 signing , preferably a CM, in January. Might sound silly to say but like how Moura wasn't ready when he 1st came in you could argue that our players saw his skills in training and knowing about transition times etc were still acutely aware that they needed to make sure when he was ready that it wasn't them being dropped.

Haven't meant this as a rant against you I respect everyone's opinions on here it's just my view of the situ. I'll happily admit I'm an optimist and want Poch to be here so I may be reading into it how I want

I think it makes more sense for us to seek to do our business in January. I have for some time.

The big spenders are less likely at that point whereas we can steal a march if we have identified suitable targets of course.

Lord forbid!

Seems to be that he thinks that if we are doing well come Christmas (and this is the best start we've ever had) we don't need to sign anyone. I don't know how anyone can read it and think any differently

I can agree with this I meant more so that the whole "January is near impossible to do anything" rhetoric is what was wheeled out.

In reality I agree with your sentiments. Moura is the recent example by we've done business in January before and if anything it's a time where other teams are looking to business as well for various reasons.

I do feel there's some relevance to how much you can expect of a January signings for various reasons but a large portion of those reasons count in the summer as well. Players ability to adapt to their surroundings and feel comfortable + being fit are probably two of the bigger "negatives" of a January signing.

However, without any stacks to back it just off the top of my head, I'd imagine there's just as many players whose start to a new club career is hampered by the same reasons during a summer window. Fabhino at Liverpool comes to mind

See that I can agree with. I just can't subscribe to a definitive idea of "he doesn't want anyone in January".

What you've just said makes a whole lot of sense and , should we have players back fit , more importantly, looking like the players they were pre injury then I can at least understand where he's coming from even though I feel we should be looking to add at least one player in January.

Christ, not another he said this but he meant that argument...why can't you just wait a week until Pochettino clarifies himself...again...in fact some of you can wait a week before commenting on anything...or maybe for-fucking-ever...

Agreed, everyone should just let the dust settle or can they that is the question?

What? ‘Who he voted out’. Jesus. You have one language and you can’t even speak that. Who am I voting out of you fucking disaster? What does that even mean? You’re obviously still smarting from the IQ test stuff when SchmoodSpur SchmoodSpur ruined you yesterday. Btw, judging by your use of language and inability to acknowledge facts I’d say your score is between 85-95. Not too bad for a Saffa dog nonce with language difficulties I’ll happily admit. That might theoretically allow you to have children, but good luck with finding a girlfriend who appreciates jort wearing Lego lovers with Ronaldo posters in their bedroom and who’ll allow your lumpen body to fall upon them when you’re tired with rimming scum fans on the internet. Just because you have a dog that appreciates you, doesn’t mean you’re qualified to charm female human beings.
Mate you’re a convicted racist xenophobic alcoholic who gets beaten up in pubs and voted out. Taking offence from a no mark loser like you will take some doing

:dembelelol::dembelelol:

I too fully supported Poch's comments of last week, I said exactly this in my response to your snide calls for me to do so. I just didn't interpret them as him wanting to leave the club. I didn't see them as anything other than him reflecting on the mood felt by everyone around the club at present. I saw them relating to the challenges that are faced by the club and how they were significant and not experienced by any other club, no other club is building a stadium.

So, back to the topic. Why have you not responded to make any comments against Poch's words he spoke yesterday? Why are you avoiding this? Please don't bottle it arc, I'm asking you for your take on these comments of yesterday, not of his comments reported on Monday. We all know what you thought of his comments on Monday. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON HIS COMMENTS OF YESTERDAY?

Don't bottle this one.
My thoughts on his comments yesterday is well done on coming out and calming the fans and diffusing the cunt media and their Real agenda

Less than a week ago kingdawson kingdawson and ArcspacE ArcspacE chose to tag me out of the blue asking me to "spin" Poch's comments and I shared my views, John Thomas John Thomas was busily lurking in the background with his fingers tapping on the disagree/agree button. 6 days on and new quotes from Poch, seems only fair this time that I tag you lot and get your take on Poch's comments. Genuinely interested in your take on them. Are there any bits that you don't understand and would like clarification on, happy to help.

Here they are, every word, all in one place, not cherry-picked, not rearranged, but written just as he said them, word for fucking word (I have omitted the Wolves-related stuff for obvious reasons, it ain't relevant):

"I think today in football we always talk. We talk, we always about long term project. I think one day it was difficult to explain. I want to repeat and I hope you don’t misunderstand me. We work with a responsibility to create a long term project. It is true that today in football is always about the present, about good results quick, as soon as possible and it is difficult to talk about project.

"At the same time you need to work and try to anticipate the thing about to come. We always work to try to win games tomorrow. If you are not prepared, the team, the squad, with a plan for the future.

"After you spend four years and a half like me. I think no one expected so long myself here at tottenham. if you do not anticipate and you have another plan that is not long term period in the end you are going to fail.

"The success here is that always we are thinking in today and thinking in tomorrow and that is most important.

"I think one day I explain, I want to be here for all of my career. That is the best thing because that is why it is difficult to explain the decision, and to explain the big picture and it is a struggle to explain to our fans why things happen today in the present.

"That is the most important to think and then if one, two, three, four, five, six and the patience of the board or Daniel is not big they will sack you. But always you feel responsible and the legacy for different people that can arrive and work on the projectect. That is our responsibility, I feel responsible, the coaching staff to not only come here and work and it’s a fantastic life in London and fantastic facilities. That is why our commitment is not thinking is not only today but for the future."

Can you achieve what you want here?

"I think, like you all in our different businesses, always we want to improve, we want the best, to win, to achieve more money. I’m an honest person that loves to talk very honestly, and of course when you don’t win you’re so frustrated.

"Our fans are so frustrated but you are the first that wants to win, the players, the staff, everyone. When you’re close, you need to try to translate that it’s all under control and try to create a good feeling, trying to help that hope that one day we can win. Of course sometimes the period that you spend, if you don’t achieve all that you want or expect, it’s true that it’s difficult to keep motivated with the right energy to in the end achieve all that you want.

"I think the period today at the club, at Tottenham, is so exciting. Of course it looks when you look backwards I think it’s like one life, like we are at Tottenham for 20 or 30 years, because it was so tough, the moments, and so intensive, the moments we shared together. But I think we’re in the middle of the [journey] and I don’t believe that it’s the end of something.

"That’s the difference when people talk for different clubs. When you talk about some clubs or others you need to see where they are, how they are, who they are. But when you assess Tottenham, they are in the middle of the journey, in the middle to arrive in the harbour. And you need time. And the time sometimes depends on the boat, or on many things - whether you can improve your boat during the journey. People can talk a lot and create a lot of history and theories about Tottenham but the most important is the reality.

"The reality is we are very close to finishing the new stadium, we’re very close to creating, in facilities, one of the best clubs in the world. Of course all have different costs to pay, and sometimes to win titles today is difficult for different reasons that you and our fans knowe very well. But sometimes the patience is shorter, it’s not too big, and the frustration, like for us, when you don’t win… You’re so close but you don’t win. But for me it’s so exciting to be here at Tottenham, helping the club to achieve the last level.

"I think we’re so close to getting the last level, but we need to have that patience that makes us stronger, because of course we’re finding different situations that you need to fix – a lot of difficult things that happen during the journey that you need to sort out. But I think we’re strong enough to sort out all the problems and arrive, and in the end to achieve what the club and fans deserve, and in the end all we want to achieve one day is to win trophies.

"When I arrived at Tottenham, the first video I think Daniel or the people showed me was of Tottenham Hotspur, we are talking about the glory. Yes, I want to feel the glory with Tottenham. When I watch that video from 1960, I think always it’s a very emotional video but it will be fantastic to deliver for our fans and for all the people that moment again, to repeat it here with Tottenham. But first of all we need to finish the stadium, move there, finish the facilities here, be settled, make our stadium home again and work so hard to try to be competitive.”

Over to you.........
Just a word of advice. You're posts are way, way too long mate. I'm sure most of the forum would agree.

I'm also sure that most open minded, level headed fans like me would be delighted with the boss's recent comments regarding his commitment to the club, just as they would be worried by his regular comments, like last week, expressing his disappointment and concerns over our lack of transfer activity in the summer.

Unfortunately, a few people like yourself choose to either ignore or put a ridiculously positive spin whenever he talks if his frustration with the pathetic backing he's received from his chairman.

Words are just Words. It's actions he and we need to see.

And I'm sure you'll be the first to raise a glass with me in hoping that finally, FINALLY., Levy and his investment company start to recognise that the small matter of the football team has a manager they can ill afford to lose.
