Management New Manager?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Its called a debate...we could all make one statement and leave it there, but then a forum would be pointless.
I'm all for debates. Debates are where people have their views, some of which may conflict with others, some of which may match. Arguing is challenging for the sake of it to try and score a victory over the other person. I guess only you know which you prefer.

I have to say if it was me I would have all the research done ready to install someone at the end of the season but do you all think this could be a sign that Levy could be really doing due diligence this time to not fuck up again

It could be him being cautious or the owners saying ok mate get this right, this could also explain wait as well as Ajax handover plan

The thing is, Levy nearly always leaves things late...so I dont see this as a positive thing at all.

We went 10 months without a manager after Hoddle....and then Santini, Jol and Arnesen were unveiled and we all thought "REVOLUTION!!!!"

Its not a time thing with Levy...its making the right decision. AVB was sacked in December...

Im debating the topic though, as I usually do.

Anyway, I know where you stand now in the subject of the thread, so our discussion can end here. No need to bore everyone else to tears.

Yeah I hope we get the man soon as unlike some previous attempts there is literally a choice of two and one of which he was calling in December, I like to think at that point Frank gave the list of what needs to happen to get him installed

It is about making the right decision, maybe he waited until the poll was up on here?! Come on now Daniel you can do it.....

Sadly, we need to wait for all the CL / G-14 clubs to sort themselves out before we can start 'shopping' - i.e. the second tier teams. Much like with transfers, as soon as the big guys have finalised their deals - we can come out and eat.

Barcelona and Utd making early announcements has been great btw.

Chelsea, Woolwich, City, Liverpool and Everton - doubt much would change
Juventus, Roma and Napoli - all 3 had great seasons
Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich - much of the same
PSG - great season. Monaco - Ranieri? No thanks
As for Spain - I can't see much changing either

So - we could be announcing quite soon, although possibly not as soon if it wasn't for the WC

Unfortunately, it shows the wide difference between us and Man U. They get rid of Moyes and identify their man and get him signed up ASAP. We take forever identifying who we want.

On a side note, its funny about Giggs. He is just starting out in his managerial career and has jumped at the chance of being a number two and learning his trade.

Sherwood - " I aint interested being a Number 2. If I dont get the job, I am off". Cunt

Can't help thinking that if Poch was number 1 choice it would have been tied up by now. If it is Poch he will have my full support but I wonder if he is a Levy stalking horse ?!

Silly comment. FdB is faced with the prospect of leaving a job where he has had unprecedented success and is therefore an Ajax hero, to come to a job here he night be sacked with 18 months.

Poch, in contrast, is an extremely inexperienced man at our level and so the job would be a snap off your hand automatic step up for him.

You're telling me you wouldn't take some time to think it over if it was a weighing up exercise?

Also, if Levy is hoping for an Ancellotti coup then it makes sense to wait until after the CL final. Plus it's WC year and most transfers are unlikely to take place before it is finished.

There are quite a few reasons why we may not make a decision for a few weeks yet.

Besides, we'd have a new manager already if Moyes hadn't been booted out. Now there is no obvious candidate on the market we should take our time to get it right.

I really don't understand our fans at times. Spend ages monaing about the managers. Spend ages moaning about them not being given time. Spend ages saying Levy doesn't make the right choices. Then when there's a vacancy to fill, do it now, do it now!!

Never any patience.
Its not a matter of patience? Its doing whats right. Do you belive FDB (as in your synopses ) would delay if Chelsea /Utd or City came in for him. We need to start behaving like a big club and expect to be treated like one. If there is an agreement he will sign later, pending ?. Then let us supporters know. If he wants to sign, nothing should change that. The Bale situation was embarrassing?

For me it has to be an all out push for FDB. I can't believe that people aren't making more out of what he has said in the media over the last month.

Essentially you have a title winning manager (Eredivisie blah blah) who has publicly stated he has no interest in joining a prebuilt champion but wants to take a sleeping giant and do something exceptional with them.

I mean, come on, that is exactly the attitude and mind set we are crying out for. It is in fact exactly what we are always asking of our players... To commit to building something great instead of choosing the easy option and jumping ship as soon as a bigger club comes calling.

The guy has practically let out a battle cry that he is ready to take a failing, big club and drag it back to where it should be... How can you not be turned on by that? Add to that his heritage and prestige and the type of player that can attract and he is the perfect candidate.

So he has no experience in the Prem? Are we kidding ourselves that with the changes that will happen this summer we are mounting a serious campaign next season?

Let the guy bed in for a season and be a bit more long sighted and by 15/16 we will have one of the most ambitious and highly thought of coaches in world football with a team he has had a year to work with and a year of Prem experience himself.

Absolutely, wholeheartedly, and entirely agreed. As soon as he made that comment, it was him or no one else for me. Winning fucking post right here.

I also agree that anyone hoping for an honors-challenging campaign next year is likely very unrealistic. I just want to see visible progress and an entertaining season that suggests the players want to be involved, and consequent establishment of an attractive outfit for future prospects to build on and up.

don't give a feck if its poch or fdb as they're both young, full of potential and like to play good attacking footy

the little bald twat bag needs to hurry the fuck up and get one in though so I can enjoy the fucking world cup and not be thinking to much about the 3 ringed circus he's orchestrating ffs
