All of them stopped City winning everything.
I think you have a skewed definition of competing.
So did we, of course.

But City have a stronger stranglehold on the PL today than there has ever been, I think.

We’d be doing Fergie a disservice to claim that United were ever this far clear of the pack. A transcendent Liverpool that would have dominated other eras is nowhere near.

Ignoring personal feelings about what ever else we do with our stadium (and for the record, I don't give a shit, in fact I actually quite like that we have a stadium that's used and will be famous for other events) this "other use" is actually good for the football club/team.

All this revenue goes to Spurs, not Levy. And regardless of how well/badly we use the revenue, it's better to have it than not.

I wonder if this was used as a stick to beat ourselves with back in the day too?

(Also, check the rest of the list,..... Everyone was doing it!)

Honestly; the self-loathing of some of our fanbase is twisted as fuck!

We haven't had time to see if the team benefits. It certainly hasn't yet in any way shape or form, but covid happened.

In a post pandemic world we have no chance of a record breaking deal. Who is paying hundreds of millions with the possibility the stadium is empty the next time a new respiratory illness emerges. Covid opened a can of worms we'll never close.

Only time will tell where that money goes.

You're talking about 1 off matches, none of which were finals so other than points or progression, we got nothing.
Meanwhile City have overtaken us as one of the most successful teams in England in the space of 14 years. Since the start of the 15/16 season we have won some games against them and they have won 3 League titles and are on their way to 4, 5 league cups than we have in our history.
Beating them and winning fuck all isn't competing with them.

You completely ignored the all-important punchline:

Guido said:
I don't see any other team that's challenging them, let alone us."

You mean like, back in the day when we used to win stuff? :freund:

18/19
No signings in the season at Wembley in either the summer nor winter windows.
Net spend £13m profit

19/20
First full season (until covid) at the new stadium
£86m net spend over 2 windows

Average spend over 4 windows £18.25m

In the three years since moving into the new stadium, only Utd and Woolwich have outspent us.

The point is, as things stand, the more money the stadium generates, the more funds the club has, whether that’s from football, NFL or concerts.

Don't you get it yet, Blakey.....?

These Einsteins want more spending but less revenue...... It's the sure-fire route to 80s former glories now that petrol dominates the EPL.🤡

How was the atmosphere today (for those that went)? Packed out?

When are ST renewal emails out?

It was fine until the second goal, but then the fans detected the players had given up so they gave up too.

Perked up a bit at the start of the second half but the players were showing all the urgency of a geriatric tortoise which again rubbed off on the crowd. Virtually deserted around me by 75 minutes.

What's even more remarkable is that we have yet to complete a full season at the new stadium with people being able to attend matches (generating match day revenue) or attend the exhibitions/conferences (stadium has 3rd largest facilities in London) or all the 16 non football evens through out the year - which is what generates a lot of revenues.

Having a stadium not being visited only generates a fraction of the money a fully utilised stadium would.

I mean, we actually have to use some weird hybrid grass system so that both the (actual) football pitch and American one can both be in use and changed out.
The surface is Desso Grassmaster. It’s not unusual at all. In fact it’s also used in a few other stadiums:

Any audible Levy Out chants?
Heard there were a few emanating from the South Stand?

Well I stand corrected!

I don’t believe you can question the effort fight or desire - as for talent and ability that is a different matter!

Unfortunately the way enic have done things has taken away the prospect of getting Leicester type owners. Now all that's available is becoming another oil club or a club like united that the owners use take the money out the club which is what we're kind of stuck with now anyway. The stadium is one of the worst things to happen to this club imo. It's kind of like a wolf in sheep's clothing for me.

Agreed, its an amazing stadium and one of the worlds best. It should have propelled us to a new level, but it has done the complete opposite in true Spursy fashion. We are dog shit in it and our home record is fucking atrocious. Our owners and chairman are nowhere near ambitious enough to provide a quality team that stadium deserves. Its just a curse the new stadium.

Yeah, I was one of only about 20 people left in my section at full time.
