How are you struggling with the difference between a vision and results? We had some bad results under Pochettino but the team was receptive to his ideas and you could see what he was doing. The football wasn't miserable to watch at all, I distinctly remember not being depressed every time Spurs played football under Poch, can't say the same for whatever the fuck we're doing under Nuno.

This guy doesn't deserve our time. Go look at his fucking career and find me evidence that he does. If he's too shit and boring for Wolves, why the hell would we want to give him multiple transfers windows to shape Spurs?

How are you struggling toactually work out what I'm saying 🥴, the performances back then under Poch were just as bad as they are now, the team wasn't receptive to his ideas until November when he started to blood the youngsters (after the Stoke game) Poch still needed time to weed out the malcontents and find out who he can trust and who he cannot - basically your'e not going to see any consistency until he (or anyone in the hotseat) gets time.

The only reason you're so depressed is because your expectations are higher than they were back then, we came off the back off the AVB/Sherwood malarchy and expectations were low, now we're coming off the back of the Poch and Jose hangover and having dropped from the previous heights we were in people expect us to get back there in double quick time, doesn't work like that I'm afraid.

Complete and utter revisionism I'm afraid

QPR finished bottom of the league and West Ham back then aren't the team they are now, that Woolwich match had us sitting in our own box scared to play.

Ironic you say that because I seem to remember Poch resting players in the League Cup and Woolwich turned us over at WHL, you seemed to have forgotten about that though.

I don't see much of a difference if you compare then till now, no need to try and re-write history.

I haven't forgotten. I didn't say we were unbeaten. I said we didn't get beat very often. Which is true. Look up all our London derbies and work out how many we lost.

I believe in the first few years he didn't care about domestic cups. Why would he? He wasn't raised to think they were important or any kind of priority.
Still got a league cup final in season one though. And may have won it if we didn't have a ropey league match on the Thursday before whereas Chelsea had the best part of 2 weeks off.

No they were not.
They just weren't as bad. I didn't want Poch and was grumpy at times back then. But the performances, more often than not, were not as bad as they are now. We have been so astonishingly boring this season that getting tonked actually makes it more exciting

Oh sorry, I don't struggle with what you're saying now, I just realise it's outright wrong. Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah, they weren't. We struggled results wise but the games were never as dull or lifeless as we've had under Nuno, we didn't lose all 3 games against rivals with an aggregate score of 7-1. We pressed and tried to go for games, but lacked the quality. Completely different story here. Not my fault if you can't remember how we played under Pochettino, or are satisfied with the shit you're being served up here.

Nope, it's because we play worse football than anybody in the league aside from Burnley and Newcastle. Our chance creation is woeful, we have no identity or any proof any identity is taking shape. None whatsoever. And we're never going to get back there under this guy, you could give him a 20 year contract, makes no difference.

You want to give this guy time, based on what? What have you seen since he arrived at the club that 90% of other fans can't, I'm genuinely curious. What have you seen in his career full stop that makes you think he's capable of building an entertaining, competitive team which gets us back to CL football? Because I'm lost, personally.

If we're going to give this guy time, we might as well have kept Ryan Mason. The football was more enjoyable under him at least.

Biggest giveaway that Nunos coaching will amount to nothing is that our movement off the ball is atrocious. It would be like giving AVB more time, the football is going nowhere under him.

A combined XI?

Lloris
Cresswell Zouma Romero Coufal
Soucek Rice
Bowen Benrahma Son
Kane

A little deceptive as Son, Kane and Lloris are a country mile better than West Ham's guys, whereas PEH, Skipp and Ndombele are quite close, but still.

(Also the one West Ham player that would improve us the most might well be Lanzini who I've always rated and who is the exact kind of player we're missing)
Always rated Lanzini as well.

Issue is we can’t sack without a decent alternative. To bring in someone for the rest of this season like say Eddie Howe only to sack them when someone like Poch becomes available would make us look even more clownish.

I think we are going to keep Nuno and tread water this season then and I hope bring in a manager with forward thinking ideas on how to shape us up.

I always think of that AVB game where we beat Hull 1-0 with a late penalty and still got booed off. That was ground zero for boring football but yesterday was bloody close. Deffo a few Mourinho ones in there as well, that Bournemouth away one.....

Most boring game I have ever seen us play was AVB in some EL game. It was a night game and I ended up starring at the stars for about 10 mins. Then looked round and everyone else was doing the same. I was ready for bed, think we won 1-0 or something but no one cared. More excitement on the walk back to the train station.

Going from Redknapp to AVB was like skydiving and landing in a maths lesson. What a come down.

He is pulling your Cory mate no way can anyone be in for Nuno.

We look more solid defensively although I think Skipp, Romero and Emerson help that but in attack my god we look crap.
I think we look more solid defensively because Winks and Sissoko aren’t playing in midfield but if either Sanchez or Dier plays then they are always likely to have a brain fart

Attack I totally agree

Kane lumbering around and doesn’t want to be there

Lucas making runs like a headless chicken without looking up and considering options

Son looking isolated

If we concede early on Saturday I dread to think of the final score

We could get in Pep Guardiola and it wouldn’t matter because he’d still have to work under Enic.

You’re all barking up the wrong tree. Nuno, Potter, Klopp, Poch…they’d all fail because we simply don’t have the ambition or owners to bring success.

I’ve been a big supporter of Levy and the owners and have vehemently defended them at various places.

But even I’ve turned now. Until this club gets sold to a group or individual who wants success on the pitch then it doesn’t make an iota of difference who the manager is.
