They lost one of the goalkeepers best performing goalkeepers from last season (Henderson) and their best centre back is now out injured for the season (O'Connell).

They also haven't strengthened their side at all really.
Henderson was probably worth 6-7 points for them. I think they will struggle to crack 50 without him.

Was has happened to Sheff Utd over the summer? Can't believe it's the same team that turned us over last year so easily.

Last year everything went right for them, they played so close to the margins in so many games. This year it appears the opposite. I think that last year they were not actually a top 10 team but got the breaks and this year they likely aren't a bottom 3 team but have been unlucky.

They were something like 5th last in GF which shows how perfect, and lucky, they had to be in defense because they were so limited in being able to create goals.

As mentioned above when you are that tight in terms of having to rely on defense taking out a star goalie plus a top CB likely has big consequences because an extra goal here or there is killer for your team because now you are trying to score against a team playing defensively and they couldn't even score against teams that were playing wide open.

Even when they turned us over last year, it should have been 1-1 at the half in the 2nd game because of a horrible disallowed goal for us and if that is the score that game likely turns out differently. To me that game was a kind of a snapshot of their season where they got lucky to have the goal called back and got a win when they easily could have had that goal rightfully given and then struggled to even get a point.

Nice goal by Rennes, good run by Raphinha, deft little assist by Guirassy (didn't know he had that in his locker).

Rennes aren't the most creatively exciting team offensively, but they are powerful side

"Best second choice keeper in the league"

Liverpool fans are unbearable

He's awful isn't he?

Reason they got knocked out of the CL last season - such an awful dip in quality between him and Allison and always has a mistake in him.

Its refreshing to see Liverpool have to play without a full strength team. Having no Allison would have been nice but without Mane too, we'll really see what they're about.
