£80M for Maguire is sheer madness if it’s true.
He is worth about half of that at best.
Clubs valuing players like Maguire and Zaha at £80M is ludicrous, but even more ludicrous would be someone paying those amounts for them.

Unfortunately that's the whole crux of the problem....the bigger clubs can afford to throw wads of cash around. I can see no way around the problem other than to cap transfer fees in relation to a players age which would then unfortunately remove the value of 'considered future potential' where youngsters were concerned. It's a difficult problem but something needs to be done before a complete monopoly situation exists with a handful of rich clubs having first dibs with everyone else feeding from their table scraps.
