Alistair Gold says that they (Qatar) can’t have a majority stake because of PSG. I don’t know the rules, but how can RB have two clubs, City group have however many and suddenly now they’re worried about this?

Don’t get me wrong; no group should have more than one. It’s terrible for the game. But from a pure layman’s perspective, it seems fine for these other situations?
Red Bull pulled off some insane paperwork and restructuring on the corporate level to allow Salzburg and Leipzig to play in the CL together.

City only really have Girona as their other club in Europe. And they have not come even close to sniffing European competition since they bought them. Their other clubs are on other continents.

The issue is not being majority owner of two clubs, it's being majority owner of two clubs in the same competition. The Lazio owner was forced to sell his stakes in Salernitana when they got promoted to Serie A last season for this very reason.

What a wanky thing to say.

The majority respect LGBT rights, so the majority does win. The majority also want LGBT people to have a voice.

They're directly impacted by these issues, you are not.
I'm fairly sure that "the vast majority" of human beings are heterosexual, so I don't see how they would be affected by LGBTQ issues, apart from being bored fucking stupid with virtue signalling knob heads banging on about how important it all is.

I'm pretty sure that the people affected are quite capable of fighting their own battles, they don't seem shy about raising them to public consciousness.

That’s every owner except Middle Eastern countries and Russian oligarchs.

Boehly isn’t a dream but hes not out here financing terrorists, murdering journalists who criticise him, torturing dissidents, or employing slaves. It’s not exactly a trivial moral distinction.
kolyid kolyid
You disagreed with this - do you know something we don’t about Boehly? :contelol:

You make sort of a good point with the bolded bit. If we've always been cunts, we should stop. You are right. But the important word is WE. WE should stop. If WE continue being cunts then we have no right pointing fingers at others. WE should now go full force in stopping the worldcup happening in the USA which is obviously a country way low in the morals pecking order. We will see if that sort of energy is summoned by WE like WE did against Qatar.
I'm not interested in arguing about strawmen.

The US is a terrible country, no doubt. They almost certainly lied about reasons for invading iraq and caused untold tragedy.

But, the footie will happen without me, so I'll watch it. Same as I'll watch Spurs if we sell out to Qatar.

I saw a City fan in a thread on this on reddit who said something along the lines of how he is fully aware of how deplorable the politics/values behind the people running city football group are. But at the same time they have put a lot of money into Eastern Manchester to lift that area up from the dolldrums and are doing good things in that community.

They described it as being between a rock and a hard place. Which makes sense. They do deplorable things in the middle east but the people of Manchester benefit. Newcastle are probably going to see similar results once they get their claws into local decision makers and real estate.
That area of Manchester has massively improved. Lots of regeneration going on.

FOR BETTER OR WORSE? By Dan Kilpatrick

A deal with the Qataris, who have deeper pockets and grander ambitions than practically anyone else involved the game, would enable the chairman to continue running the club assiduously, but with the funds to satisfy the demanding Conte and the club's restless fanbase, which called for Levy's head in the recent games against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Levy, though, may prefer a more low-key investor than QSI and with less baggage, while relinquishing a minority stake in Spurs now would potentially make it more difficult for ENIC to sell the club outright in future.

Having Qatar as minority partners would potentially offer supporters the best of both worlds: keeping the largely well-respected and fastidious Levy in a position of overall control and avoiding turning Spurs into the kind of glittering, soulless circus that PSG have become under Al-Khelaifi. This scenario would also dilute the pressing moral questions that come with any investment from Qatar, although they would not go away entirely.

For many fans, even the prospect of finally matching the spending power of the likes of City, Chelsea and Manchester United and massively boosting their chances of ending 15 years and counting without a trophy would not be worth their club becoming another sportswashing vehicle of the Qatari state.
Proud Lilywhites, the club's LGBTQ+ fan group, have already sought assurances from the club over the Qatar links, warning: "QSI don't align to the club's values of inclusion for everyone. Our members would be criminalised in Qatar and our Qatari siblings aren't safe, so until this changes, we would urge the club to ensure that this rumour remains a rumour."

Simply put, Qatari investment would compromise Spurs — a club well-known for its family environment and inclusivity — and potentially leave LGBTQ+ supporters, in particular, feeling unwelcome.
While acknowledging that Levy and Al-Khelaifi are close friends and meet often, Spurs have also denied that they have had any discussions over an equity stake in Spurs, while sources close to the PSG president have played down the chances of a deal.
thanks for posting but that literally gives zero insight, most posters on here have more idea and knowledge of the set-up and ramifications. Why would a minority share holder bank roll anything. Also future cash injections would have to be match by other shareholders, unless stock is diluted which I don't believe ENIC are interested in.

It's a terrible peice of writing. At least it gave a platform for disgruntled LGBTQ fans but that was all.

You're either single or your wife is rational.
Mine wants the best and newest available and wants to complain about the price.
She also wants me to do all of the maths and explain it to her but fail to understand it all, and she also seems to not want to have any of the cost associated with a brand new, high end car despite actually earning more than I do.

So yeah, we still have our 120k mile 2012 diesel X3 we've had for nearly 7 years because it's impossible to get a similarly new car to what t was when we got it that is ULEZ compliant. It's costing me the best part of £250-£300 a month on average even though we bought it out right and she pays nothing to run it.
We can both get brand new EV lease cars through work salary sacrifice schemes but they ain't cheap. An IX3 or IX is £650-£750 a month (although all running costs included)
When I told her I ain't paying all of it and am not all that happy with half given salary proportions AND the fact she utterly fucking abuses cars she nearly had a hissy fit.
So to summarise, she is probably the person you're talking about.
yes, my wife is rational. Our car still feels brand new, which is crazy as it's ferried our young kids around, now 13.5 and 10. I honestly think if we stick with this one for a few more years, the next can be more for us as the eldest should be driving.

We did go more utilitarian with a Subaru Forrester XT but they are as hard as nails, we were looking at an X3 but they don't hold up so well and look crappy if abused. It's a shame as I came from a 320 M Sports tourer that I loved. It never missed a beat in ten years of ownership.

I myself have a pristine S2000 with 50km on the clock, and i'm restoring a type-1 VFR400 NC30. So our main car just needs to be reliable, tidy and safe. It just helps to have the same 2.0l turbo lump as the WRX ;-)

I feel you pain though, i'll buy you a pint if we ever meet at the game and we can moan about the cost of living. Of course, said pint will be purchased outside the ground as it's much cheaper!!!

I don’t think it’s virtual signalling to want, and to fight for, an inclusive club, where everyone is welcome.

As a fan base, we’re not perfect, but we’re also not Chelsea, and I’ve always been proud of that. What binds us all together is a love of Spurs. Face it, anyone who has the mental strength to truly love this basket case of a club deserves our respect and our support. Obviously, ENiC are not focused on needs of the fans so we have to do what we can to look out for each other, should this thing happen.

That's not entirely true. PCP monthly price is not based off the entire value of the car, whereas a loan is. It's based off depreciation and the less the final balloon payment. IE, they estimate a 30% reduction in value over 4 years so the monthly cost is is based off 70% of the car value. (I made those numbers up, could be more or less either way)
The deposit can be next to nothing and the apr these days is around 5-6% which is competitive against loans.
People who buy new cars don't tend to buy them to keep them until they're old cars either.
Many are more than happy to give them back and get another new one in a few years. At which point, the cost of the PCP often works out less than the cost of buying a car outright, letting it depreciate, and then trying to sell it. Obviously not applicable to every car and every buyer, but this is fairly straight stuff now.

A nearly new car already depreciated by 30% or so is 100% better off purchased as a loan. The numbers don't stack up with PCP at all.

In case you can't tell, I spend a lot of time looking at this shit lol.
Possible ULEZ expansion is making me look at many options and working out the maths
You got me thinking.

6 years ago I bought my nearly new car for cash. Looking on Autotrader, it's depreciated by £7k, which is the equivalent of having paid £97 per month - so I reckon I've done okay.

👏👏👏👏👏🏻👏🏻👏🏽👏🏽👏🏻

I also don't consider 'signalling your virtue' to be a bad thing. Nuns do it all the time. Hiding your a self centered C***t would bother me much more. However as the kind of person who thinks virtue is a bad thing rarely hides it, we can at least a keep an eye on them.
