No to mention the disallowed Everton semi final goal in '77.
That was an absolute shocker

Years later Thomas confessed in an interview. "I was behind Hamilton when the ball came to him and he moved his arm towards it so when it entered the net I made a gut reaction that he must have handled it. As soon as I blew the whistle I knew from the lack of a reaction from the Liverpool players that I'd made a mistake. It suddenly dawned on me that I hadn't seen the ball hit him on the arm and so shouldn't have blown but it was too late. I was standing in the six yard box dismissing the Everton player's protests knowing that all hell would break loose if I was to suddenly change my mind. It was only when I left the field that a journalist reminded me I had wrongly disallowed an Ipswich semi final winner two years earlier. The scorer, he reminded me, was Brian Hamilton." Emlyn Hughes would state years later. "Everton were robbed. No doubt about it. They were the better team on the day and Clive [Thomas] told me years later that he knew he got it wrong

Clive Thomas, the definition of legend in his own lunchtime

No thought of I can't see a bloody thing so let's calm things down for a minute while I "consult with the linesman" and think what to do

Brazil Sweden too

Attention seeking clown

Just remembered Lord Clive was the twat who gave the last minute pen for Wolves in the 81 semi , bloody obvious from the way the ball diverted off course that Hoddle had played it.

Thomas would last about 2 matches these days before the cameras would ridicule him and he'd be booted down to Isthmian
How could you forget that? I remember standing at the Leppings Lane end, in a daze. The players weren't much better and we were lucky to survive extra time.
However, the one good thing to come from that was the replay at Highbury - what a fantastic night that was :)

Think he was also the ref when the Spammers played Liverpool in the League Cup final in '81 - controversy in that one too.

Cyril and Clyde Best. This reminds me of yet another story. I was on a cruise with my sister (2009), and she just wanted to sit by the pool, and I went into the sports bar where they were showing the Man U / Barcelona CL final. I just happened to have my stuff in a Spurs carrier bag, and a guy at the bar asked if I was a Spurs supporter. When I said yes, he replied that he USED to be Spurs, you can imagine my reaction. Anyway, he asked if I knew who Clyde Best was, and revealed that he was his cousin and played for the Bermudian national team. As he was supporting United, I was very happy that Barca won, and I had a very smug look on my face. :)

I'm looking at these on my phone, first one George Graham? The second one looks like the FA Cup Final 1967, Cyril Knowles? The very first Spurs game I ever saw and what started the love affair.
