Roberto Soldado

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's not the Ferrari's fault that it isn't being given any fuel.

Lay off Soldado. Even Ronaldo (the real one) in his prime wouldn't score goals with the tepid, sterile football we're serving up at the moment.

Also, all the bullshit media reporting Soldado to be a penalty taking flop can fuck right off.

If we start creating 10 chances a game for him and he proves to have Heskey levels of prolificacy, ONLY THEN is it fair to judge

Hypothetically if he keeps this form/we maintain the same system and sold Soldado in the summer to fund a new striker how much of a hit we would take?

We'd be lucky to get £12m for him, and that's only if a Spanish side came in for him.

No, my first time posting anywhere. Is this name going to cause me grief?
Yeah. I don't like green.

Nor me :sandro::llorisserious:

Its very simple isnt it , you buy a small striker that thrives on delivery - you need to deliver the ball to him in the box. If he gets the support he will score a bunch of goals , no doubt.

I just dont get this sometimes , a manager knows his style of play, his scouting team knows what he needs and the board knows what they will pay ...

And we end up with another square peg for a round hole ?

He played on his own for Valencia, didnt he? And to damn fine effect. They fed him in the right way/areas.

I dont think he is the square peg. Bare in mind our pursuit of Villa as well as a smaller fron

We have distinctly failed in that respect.

I know he played on his own and i wasnt accusing him , its just the whole set up i dont get. Its not like his style of play was secret or hidden away in the second division of the azerbedjan league is it ?

They used superb wingers to deliver the balls to him and he used his sense of positioning to make room for a shot and he rarely misses the target from up close - that's the kind of striker he is. Its hardly rocket science is it and then we do not deliver the balls to him and urge our mids and wingers to take shots ...

And the best thing is , we criticize him for showing signs of desperation lol - its a fucking goalmachine, if goalmachines do not get the balls they need they will be angry. They want to play to their potential and its been more than three months now so who wouldnt be angry. Its not like he sulks because he doesnt feel loved or his tea was too cold , no he sulks because he tries and tries and there is nothing coming his way. I'd be fucking fuming.

I agree, its the players behind him at fault.
Whoever we have played at #10 has not impressed, and certainly not supported him.
I have a major annoyance with Townsend, his selfish play has been one of the biggest factors in our misfiring attack.
Sigurdsson at LW just hasnt found any penetration.
Paulinho, the "Brazilian Lampard" hasnt actually supported (and look at the assist he got for Soldado the one time he did...)
Ive put most of this down to players not getting on the same page, and still do, but think AVB needs to show how he is trying to make it work. For example I would have played Townsend LW to MAKE him supply...
