Were you or were you not using the lack of punishment of Fernandes to emphasise how it was Spurs fans "over-reacting" that has caused Bentancur to be punished?(*) .........The implication being that if we held our players to a lower standard (like the storied racist Chavs no doubt were) then he too could have benefited for a lesser or no punishment?
Like I said earlier, YOU came to that conclusion with your bias, not me. If you could clearly reach that conclusion and quote exactly where my words categorically stated that, you wouldn't be asking me such a question now would you? How on earth could you read what I said and surmise that i was seeking some benefit for Bentancur if we as a fanbase act like Chelscum. I explicitly said I don't condone what he did, questioned the proportionality of his punishment, which obviously implies I think he still should have been punished (granted the club internally dealt with it already) and I mocked Chelsea for making a clear cut racist their club captain - with no condemnation from the let's "kick it out" FA to add.
Again, I think you're projecting some other take you have about Chelsea and their fanbase on to me. If you have something to say about them say it on your own terms instead of piggybacking off of my words.
You seem awfully sure of this..... Is this a factual assertion? .......If so can you link me to a credible source?
Go ask Google for some analytics. What you can easily do for instance, is go on YouTube, search for Bentancur related videos and observe the plethora of Tottenham fan channels with notable subscriber numbers that did their immediate OTT reactions to the situation. Go and compare that to the number of other PL team fan channels that dedicated whole videos to the topic.
Considering a potential 12 match ban to be disproportionate to other racism-linked punishments doesn't mean people are retrospectively more forgiving of what RB said.
Forgiving may be the wrong word. They're being more level-headed, less hysterical.
