There's a way of answering questions and the way he has done if with Bissouma is incredibly condescending to a near enough 28 year old MAN.

"You know what it's like when you punish your child and they do everything right for the next two days? He's first in the meetings, he's doing everything right but there's always temptation down the road, so we’ll see," Postecoglou said of Bissouma.

"I've always believed in opportunity for redemption"

"Obviously the last transgression was very serious"

"He has responsibilities to the club, he has responsibilities to his teammates, he has responsibilities to supporters and everyone associated with the club and he's failed in those duties. There's got to be sanctions for that."


You would have thought the player he is referring to has committed GBH or something. This is just a quick sample of some of the things Ange has said publicly about Bissouma whilst saying absolutely nothing about Bentancur. The Club couldn't even be bothered to specifically condemn Bentancur rather they thought the best course of action was to make it general with an absolutely awful PR blunder of a statement.

I suggest pondering them as separate incidents...... The questions emanated from on the pitch stuff (inc. Biss's goal and the lighthearted suggestion from the journo that all is forgiven now)..... Ange subsequently answered. He sure as shit wouldn't have brought it up himself.

This is NOT Ange "continuously bringing up how Bissouma" to make a "bigger deal" out of it.



Like already said; the club would have known the matter hadn't been concluded.

..........Perhaps the question should be why the media haven't been hounding the club about the admittedly more serious racial storm.....?

Ange has definitely dropped a bollock here with the difference in treatment of Bentancur and Bissouma.

At the same time though, Bissouma has been a complete idiot.

Bentancur needs a ban, accept it, learn and move on.

Biss needs to stop being a plonker, it’s not just the balloon, the red card at Luton was ridiculous. It’s about consistency with Biss.

Ange needs to reflect and I would think better of him if he came out and said in hindsight he should have been more vocal about the Bentancur incident like he was with Biss

The Bentancur stuff is above Ange's pay grade.
 
No chance he gets 12 imv but he may get more than 3.

Cavani got 3 matches and a hefty fine for simply speaking a different language.

I remember Dele got a 1 match ban for a racist video too.

Given the context of the incident, I think it’s fair to say it was stupid and ignorant rather than trying to deliberately aggravate and therefore I suspect it will be the minimum 6 matches.

agreed...However it needs to be said that Enzo Fernandez needs one too. How can Enzo's be considered less of an offence to Bentancur's

Quite.... And both held more malice; but punishments are likely less tolerant now.

I actually think the Bernardo case is most pertinent here; but there's no suggestion RB will similarly only get a 1 match ban.
 
I mean if this is the precedent we want to set then I’m fine with it. Rather there truly be “zero room for racism” than the alternative. But that will lead to quite a few bans other than Bents.

On another note, he can’t continue at the club. Always injured or always banned for being racist, it’s always something is the point. I think he’s a complete liability and if we bin him next summer, not a year will be shed.
