Well then you probably need some mandatory training so you can level up to my elite strata of progressiveness.
He's just guilty of propagating an old, slightly racist stereotype which has always been a crappy one, but one where there's enough 'meat' on it to keep it going for decades (i.e. that we do in fact struggle with foreign faces, especially where they differ in different ways to our own race).
I think many of us have made similar jokes in past, where we're joking about it, rather than for the sake of it (it seemed to me, given his dad-joke tone). But that's not good enough when you're in the public eye, you've got to be better than most.
Yes, it's blown out of proportion, but so is his impact on society (through his fame and popularity, and the credibility his paycheck suggests).
Give him a tasty slap and let him get on with it. 3 games is enough, but I expect 6.

I certainly think Bentancur's were very badly chosen, but not racist is the 'old fashioned racist way' which were and are abhorrent, so I won't repeat them.
Nor were they as bad as the ('gas') hissing noises regularly made by Chelsea fan base within last year or so nor bananas being thrown on pitch by Italian crowds (in particular) still etc. Nor as bad as Zouma's cat kicking (unpunished) which is animal cruelty which can be seen by kids etc and precisely not what a role model should be doing.
So I certainly think that some 'cultural' education is mandatory but otherwise I think a fine (paid to various societies) of say £50,000 by Bentancur (he's probably paid that weekly post tax) is probably enough to give him a 'wake up' call.
Whilst footballers like playing, being banned for a few matches has far less effect as they just put their feet up for a few weeks - its more a penalty on the club being without a player that a penalty on the player.

One has been left to the club to handle; the other is handled by the authorities (in this case; the FA).
It's the tone. Not the actual sanction..it's been handled poorly with an eye on the wrong priority.

If the FA are doing an investigation; I suspect the clubs are expected to wind their necks in until the matter is resolved.
(As I recall; that was part of the the hoo-harr stirred up by LFC during the Suarez shit; not only were they out in defense of him, but they were doing so in defiance of the FA before the a verdict had been passed).

Obviously this is not Biss' first time out on the lash. I assume it's well known within the club and they are trying to get him on the right path as it effects his performance. Could explain how inconsistent he's been throughout his Spurs career. Given Ange's tone they've probably had several 1-2-1s with Biss promising to stay on the straight and narrow before getting back to his antics.
Bentancur on the other hand was a one-off, unwise comment in an interview. It doesn't affect sporting performance.
Clearly the club are more concerned with optimising on pitch performance which is the correct stance.
This whole thing is supposed to be a sporting endeavour not some bastion of morality.

As someone who has spent a considerable amount of time living in South America I can tell you there is a very different culture when it comes to references to race in South America. It is much more playful and people will tease each other about racial stereotypes and whatnot, race is discussed openly but not in a malicious way in my experience. People just take themselves less seriously! It’s just different. This whole thing is totally blown out of proportion by euro centric left wing nutters.
