Manager Ryan Mason

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'd love the Sporting manager, but he isn't leaving midseason, especially with a chance of winning European silverware.

Poch just makes too much sense. The majority of the fans want him, supposedly the players want him, he plays the football the board want, and he's a project manager...

So welcome Thomas Tuchel... :levylol:
I honestly think I'll pack it in if that happens...

Won't affect Levy much as I'm not in a position (either geographically, financially or logistically) to be attend matches and I get my Spurs shirts from China via a slight delay, so he won't care.

It'll take something particularly exciting to shake me out of the apathy I feel towards Spurs right now though.

That’s true when I was against Poch when he rocked up but he turned it around and I was man enough to admit it that I had got it wrong!

You should try it

But not true when both Jose and Conte were appointed as I was fully behind them for a lot longer than most so basically most of your post is crap!

I think that Poch should get it either now or in the Summer with Ryan possibly as interim manager who will be more experienced after his last stint

Happy now?

Of course you’re not….

Out of interest regarding Redknapp any proof that I was one of the first to turn on him?
At the end he had to go because he had lost focus on us due to the England manager application
Some people like to turn on a manager the moment that they're appointed.
Literally hoping a new manager will fail, and the team loses matches all so they can have a go at Levy.

Shameful behaviour from some of our "fans".

With Jose it was ridiculous even after we went top for a while (not long but I take what I can get) some wankers on here were criticising the football at the time!!

Football worse this season imv

If Mason is put in as interim, I hope everyone here can get behind him. It's not his fault he's thrust into these positions. He loves the club and wants us to win, you can't say that for our recent managers.

I have no doubt he will do his best and try getting top four. Win or lose, I'm not hating Mason for it. This is all on Conte and Levy.

Ahh. But you turned against them all in the end, didn’t you.

You were absolutely vociferous in your hatred of Poch towards the end. Now you want him back! 🙄 The forum hypocrite strikes again :disdain:

In fact I don't think there's too many posters on here who personally attack current Spurs players and managers as much as you.

Each to their own, of course. Just seems a strange way for a fan to support his team.

Maybe try backing our managers when things get tough. Or accepting a players personal limitations. You might find it a little more rewarding.

:dierpochhug:

Of course I don’t know that but it’s highly unlikely that he would be in place any longer than this season and he hasn’t even been appointed yet!

Simon Jordan predicted that we’d appoint Nuno and a certain filthy grass on here put money on it!

Maybe Poch will appoint him as his assistant?
Certain filthy grass

Why are bringing your grievance with another poster into this debate? That's a bit sly and underhand isn't it.

I'd feel a bit dirty doing something like that myself.

When our managers fuck up constantly I’ll criticise them

For example I continued to back Jose when most on here wanted his head

I was the same with AVB even when the football was dire but maybe that was on another forum

When they get us playing good football or even top four I’ll praise them

That’s not hypocrisy!

I don’t think that I’m any more vociferous regarding our managers than most on here and no one else has mentioned this

Just you for some reason having a go

Was it the disagree I gave you yesterday?

LOL 😝

I dont want mason to take charge but you are right. If hes here we have to get behind him, and if he does well, make it fucking permanent. Build with it.

Hes not really thrust into this position though. He wants to be the manager, hes working towards it. He gets an opportunity and he will take it because he wants it. There is no way hes told, take this interim manager job or we fire you.

It goes on all the time on here and I’m on the receiving end more than most or don't you bother reading other people’s posts?

So I’ll post what I like on here without some prat like you acting the self appointed Forum policeman telling me otherwise

Agree with that and if things work well with Chris Powell then why not?

I too was happy when we got him, it seemed like a show of ambition at the time and I was probably more swayed by that one clip of Inter calmly playing it out from the back against Barca in the CL than I should have been, last season had it's ups and plenty of downs but the culmination papered over a lot of that.

This season has seen not only a lack of progression but actually regression in many areas, and I firmly believe we are in a false position in the league relative to our actual performances. I'm now happy to see him leave, although concerned with what happens next, as being honest it feels like anything good that has happened at Spurs over the last 20+ years has come about almost by accident rather than intention. I have no faith in our leadership making a good choice, more likely a lazy, uninspired, easy option.

Now that I'm done rambling, I the bolded part of your post is harsh. I don't think he's a total fraud, I think he is massively unsuited to this club, he realised he was fighting a lost cause and coupled with a series of difficult events in his personal life he at some point began to just phone it in and take the money. But I'm pretty sure he will have a break, go elsewhere, and win stuff.

Ok maybe a bit harsh on the fraud aspect but I’m so disappointed in how this has turned out with that shower down the road looking like they’re overtaking us and possibly winning the title

It’s killing!!

There seems to be a lot of people questioning why Ryan Mason would be the main man until the end of the season when we have Chris Powell at the club. Not one person seems to have considered that maybe Powell has zero desire to take the role on, and would rather be relatively under the radar in his role as head of our academy.

He's been a Premier League manager before, and you'd assume he'd be applying for first team manager jobs if he had the desire to do that again, rather than take this role in youth development.

Anyone else looking forward to Mason's mates for the rest of the season?

You'd think a responsible youth manager who was all in on his role wouldn't bail just for an interim role due to commitment to the lads he already has under his 'wing'.....

You have done an odd thing. In saying "not one person " considered whether Powell wants the job. That's not the point you are making assumptions just like the rest of us hence"assuming he has the desire to do it again" That's what we are ALL doing here making assumptions.

The logical thing in crisis management is to go with the most experienced person in an emergency , Powell in this case who was not on staff when we fired Jose. It seems to me people within the club and press simply went Mason because he had done it before. Now we have an option and we have the right to question how they came to such a consideration.

I didn't mean thrust in as in he's forced. I mean it as in this is not an ideal time or situation for him. He's not being allowed time to build a team, instead he's thrown into a mess and asked to calm the storm.
