High Barnet is a closer walk (by about 10 minutes) but it takes about 20 minutes longer from Kings Cross to get there. Ye takes ye choice.
Just leaving work now, couldn't get out at 3, probably be 6 by the time I get there. No pub for me.
You could go to New Barnet and get the 84, otherwise it's an absolute trek to walk. Best bet is go to High Barnet - only about 5 mins down the hill from there.
